I think that this book is only helpful if your child needs to prepare for common core testing. As far as I can tell, after a few weeks of using with my third grader is that it is most appropriate to teach children how to read and answer test questions. It is SO MUCH more complicated than it needs to be for the children to understand the math concepts. It is like a training book on how to understand and answer test questions about math - not about how to actually do and understand math. We'll probably just throw it out.

The book illustrated here is inEnglish. The book I got is your in FRENCH. I do. To speak French. What the hell am I supposed to do with this now? I live out of the US please advise as this is of no use to me now.

As a homeschooler, we have been through a lot of math books. Many of them were basic or did a surface level of teaching, with JumpMath you're able to see how the skills are being built upon each other. It is exactly what it is intended to do, teach math for everyday basis. Your child will feel confident - you can also use IXL to reinforce what they learned, as IXL has textbook exercises embedded into their app. I highly recommend this math book to any homeschooler.

We've been using the Jump Math books with my kids since kindergarten, and they are an amazing resource to use alongside classwork, since kids don't get homework in our school (in Ontario). It helps kids practice each new math skill step by step, incrementally, to make sure they really get it. There has been cases my child was sick and missed school, or something was glossed over in class, and this Grade 3 book helped her get on track and excel. She is getting perfect math grades in class, and I do attribute it in part to this book. It is so important for kids to practice math at home to re-enforce these important foundational concepts. I recommend getting both the 3.1 and 3.2 books at the same time, and jump around between units depending on what the teacher is teaching. I love the Jump Math books and highly recommend them to all parents!
