This is a good slicer, sharp and works well. Bread still sometimes gets caught in the bottom gap beween the wheel and the stand, but this is a feature of the design and I think they all do it.But – and this is a big but – one of the reasons that I picked this slicer is that it was the only domestic slicer that was described as "all metal construction." It is mostly metal, but there are a number of plastic parts – like the slider – that I was expecting to be metal and thus last longer.Additionally, the (plastic) tray for catching the slices as they come out at the back is in no way attached to the slicer main body, so if you move the slicer towards you it gets left behind. Useless!In summary, don't buy this one if an all metal construction is important to you. Otherwise its pretty good, but not outstanding in its price bracket.
