Her beloved life’s work is guiding people in relationships to experience the most alive and joyful connection with each other. Hedy has dedicated her personal and professional lives to the exploration of relationship building and the development of relational intelligence and maturity. She has 40+ years of professional experience with a BA from UCLA in Psychology and an MA in Clinical and Child Psychology from Tel Aviv University, as well as over 50 years of personal experience in her marriage and “living laboratory” with her husband, Yumi. Hedy’s current work with Encounter-centered Couples Transformation® has its roots in Hedy’s earlier work: Encounter-centered Couples Therapy™. Using this approach, Hedy educates and guides couples, mental health professionals, coaches, leaders. and executives in the power of connection and has also helped them to repair, heal, and transform their relationships. Hedy’s early career started in private practice where she counseled people affected with AIDS during the height of the crisis. She has also focused much of her attention assisting and empowering women to reach their full potential. Through the creation of a chapter of the Foundation for Mid-East Communication, Hedy was given a unique opportunity to work on Muslim-Christian-Jewish relations. Through that experience, Hedy dove deep into teachings about conflict dissolution and relational maturity, which she has brought to all of her work. A global citizen, Hedy speaks seven languages and has taught and provided her approach to relationships in more than 39 countries worldwide. Revered by students and clients all over the world, Hedy proudly works with people of all races, ethnicities, religions, and sexual and gender orientations. Hedy believes that world peace begins with the human family, and can best be achieved by creating strong, committed, growing and mature partnerships. About the Director Robyn Symon is a two-time Emmy award-winning writer/producer specializing in documentaries and television TV series. She has quickly become known in the industry as the transformational filmmaker, putting a spotlight on people who make a difference in the world. A former TV news reporter, Symon wrote and produced the national PBS documentary series Voices of Vision, hosted by NPR s Scott Simon. The series focused on non-profit organizations and ranged in topics from combating human rights violations against women in West Africa, to China s looming fast food health crisis, to the history of Boys Town. While at PBS, Symon also wrote and produced the musical special Boleros: Unforgettable Love Songs with Ricardo Montalban, Celiz Cruz, Jose Feliciano and many top Latin music stars which became a fundraising favorite for PBS stations nationwide. While at PBS Symon also wrote and produced the series Florida! which aired for six seasons on The Travel Channel. In 2007, Symon debuted in the indie arena, producing and directing the feature documentary Transformation: The Life & Legacy of Werner Erhard about one of the most controversial cultural figures of the human potential movement. At its New York premiere, Transformation broke the box office record. The film and TV rights were acquired by Screen Media Films. Symon recently completed her latest feature documentary, Hedy & Yumi: Crossing the Bridge about relationship experts who have turned their pain from the Holocaust into a global mission to create a culture of connection. Symon is currently producing several projects including a documentary on two-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee SOMPOP Jantraka who is on a mission to prevent young girls from entering Asia s sex trade, Grown Up Kidz about child caregivers, and the journey of a Canadian college grad in One Week Job who generated world wide attention for taking one job a week for a year in search of his passion.
