Great smart dimmer switch
Needed to replace 2 bedroom dimmer switches, and I canโt stand manual clicky push dimmers. Opted for this smart version for app control. Instructions were provided, however if you canโt wire a light switch you shouldnโt be doing electrical work. Packaged back box screws donโt fit, but you can just use the old switch ones or buy some. One socket had neutral wire in the wall, the other only had twin and earth, however it was a short run to the attic so I routed out a new trace and installed new 3 core and earth for the neutral wire. Flashes red when not configured; must be set up using the Smart Life app. Then on works like a normal dimmer. Buttons have a soft blue back glow when off which is great as helps to see the panel at night. Response is good and app works well. Cannot fault, perfect smart dimmer, trailing edge compatible with led arrays.

Turns on and off but doesnโt not dim
Switch turns off and on and connects fine to the app. The problem is neither actually dim the lights. This is the second unit with same problem. Customer service kindly delayed it until after the 30 days so I can no longer return it for a refund. If it doesnโt work send it straight back instead of dealing with them.

Great looks ,great functionality , great price.
Easy to install as long as the back box is a deep one as there are a lot of wires and unit behind the facia so the deeper the back box the easier the installation. Very easy to set up using the app and to connect to Google Home. And the switches really do work. We have them connected to multiple LED downlighters in all 3 bedrooms and they work very well. Very responsive to touch ,voice and phone and they are dimmable. Default to the last setting when you turn them back on. Very impressive especially for the price. And they look good , minimalistic clean look.

Perfect.....apart from no fitting instructions.
This review is only 4 stars because of the lack of instructions for installation. As with another review, I found the screws provided did not fit into the standard size screw holes in the switch back box. The reason that this appeared problematic is that it looks as it the switch is designed to slot onto the 2 screws protruding from the back box and then turn to tighten in place. I thought this because the back of the switch appeared to suggest the screws slotted in to holes big enough for the screw head and then turned into tighter groves. This is a red herring!! The front of the switch (white part) does in fact detach from the rest. You do this by inserting a small flathead screwdriver into a small grove on the bottom. Of the switch and pry it open. Donโt worry, it does not break!! At last, I was able to secure the plate using the standard screws from fro. My old switch. The facia just clips back on. Thereafter, the process of connecting to WiFi and Alexa for voice activation was a little tricky. You MUST connect the switch to a 2.4Ghz WiFi signal. Many modern WiFi routers, such as Sky Q, may need to be configured to generate a separate 2.4Ghz network. I had to create a separate network with a unique WiFi network name. If your router used the same network name for 2.4 and 5Ghz, the switch may struggle to connect. Very connected to WiFi, the Smart Life app found the switch immediately and it worked perfectly. Next I had to enable the Smart Life skill in the Amazon Alexa app. Once the skill was enabled, Alexa would not immediately discover the device but by the time I had a cup of tea, the switch was showing in the Alexa app. A few minutes to configure the switch name and I was able to turn the en-suite bathroom light on and off with โAlexa, turn the bathroom light off/onโ. Finally no more having to get out of bed when my wife leaves the light on!!!! So far it works flawlessly and looks very smart on the wall. Had there been fitting instructions supplied, it would have received 5 stars.

Quite tricky to get installed and dimmer control very limited
Have connected 4 x 3w LED bulbs to this unit. At 100% brightness it works fine but even at 1% it only dims marginally. What am I doing wrong? The minimum level calibration does not function - pressing the + or - on the switch panel does not change the calibration level, Its just stuck at 1%. In normal use the + and - buttons on switch panel do work but are not very responsive. Any suggestions on how to fix these issues?

good value for money
The installation process was a bit cumbersome only because I fit it ina standard switch box, but to be honest for the rest was straightforward and the wifi connection does the job. I wqs a bit worried after all critics but there's bo major sjills requirement... if you don't have a neutral you xan comnect it to the earth and it works like a charm with no real problem, given it's just a light switch/dimmer. I would buy it again. It would be nice to have a 2 gang version as well.

Ridiculously difficult install - and no instructions! At least it works
The box comes with no instructions. Which might make sense, if it were a really simple install. It was not. (For context, I've put together desks etc. before, but never replaced anything electronic) Before you buy: TL;DR: The bit of this switch that goes into the wall is huge and wires don't fit around it easily, the face plate needs to be wrenched off with a flat-head screwdriver, and the screw holes don't fit a standard UK light-switch fitting. So to elaborate; 1. The backplate is enormous. This SWITCH WON'T EASILY FIT in whatever space your old dimmer switch will have left behind. 2. This switch REQUIRES A NEUTRAL (blue) WIRE. I was lucky because my flat was future-proofed and had a neutral wire ready in the hole in the wall. You might not be; check the fitting before ordering. 3. Figuring out where to screw in the LIVE (brown) WIRES IS SLIGHTLY CONFUSING. I was hoping to just screw it into the same terminals as my old dimmer - "L1" and "L2". If you look up the live wire ports online, this is what is usually available on dimmer switches, along with "L3" and "L4". This switch, for whatever reason, has "L" and "L1" only. Considering this was my first time working with electrics, I was worried I was going to short-circuit something or electrocute myself if I messed up on the wires, and I couldn't find anything online saying L would be fine to plug into. It's fine, though, you can treat these terminals as normal. 4. The terminals are all on one side of the backplate. This means all of the WIRES END UP COMPETING FOR SPACE, making the process of squishing this switch into the wall that much harder. (My old dimmer switch had one terminal at the top, and one at the bottom. Very simple and easy to plug into the wall because the wires didn't touch) 5. You have to WRENCH OFF THE FACE-PLATE with a flat-head screwdriver in order to get at the screw holes. Considering there are no instructions, I was quite worried I'd damage the device in doing this. Luckily, it's fine. 6. The SCREW HOLES DO NOT FIT STANDARD UK BACKPLATE. This switch must have been designed for a different country; several reviews have complained about the same thing. I had to use the screws from my old switch fitting and cram them into some holes that appear to be made for... well, I don't know. But they're not proper screw holes. Still, with 0 experience with lights, I got this thing working. It works great now that it's installed, but it literally took 3 hours - and that's with my girlfriend helping me out to speed up the process. For the price you're paying, though, compared to other WiFi switches, and for how well it does work with Alexa once it's in the wall then I'd tentatively recommend getting this if you're ready to put the time figuring this out. But for how little it helps you install, I'm giving it two stars.
