Expensive (especially the install kits) but permanent repair
These work great. They create a new thread where the original has been damaged. Especially good for spark plug thread repair. The installation kits are very expensive but cheaper than paying someone to replace the head (or to do it yourself on many cars). Most jobs can be done with the head in place.

This product worked perfect. The only reason I don't give it five stars is the cost of buying the installation kit to in stall it. But between me and you I didn't buy the kit. I purchased a tap for $4, loc-tite and used the save a thread tap from the save a thread kit that DIDN'T WORK to set the big-sert. (or use a long bolt with the same inner thread) Seems to have worked in my 3100 engine.

I will never use the standard oversize again this is so much better and I have fixes three where the single oversize blew out saved a head each time
