Thrilling Take on a Young Adult Vampire Story
FIRST....THIS COVER IS GORGEOUS!!! What a breathtakingly beautiful cover!!! I am one of those people that will read a book just for the cover and WOW...This would have been a first choice!!!Ok I LOVED Darkness Before Dawn. I love vampires stories and this one was great. It was a refreshing take on young adult vampire stories. That being said...I DIVED into Blood-Kissed Sky and it did not disappoint. Again we find ourselves immersed into the love story of Victor and Dawn and their impossible true love story.I absolutely adore Dawn. She is strong-willed, focused, and will give her life for the ones she loves. She does not hesitate to fight and survive against all odds. She and Victor are so wonderful together. I could not wait to learn what happened next with them.Victor is now Lord Valentine and has to make certain sacrifices in order to gain respect. He and Dawn break my heart at every turn of the page. They face so many obstacles and yet they still know they belong together. He a vampire and she a human and yet their connection is so unbelievably strong and they are meant for each other.I also love that we interact more with Michael and Tegan and other new characters in this book. Its not just focused on Dawn and Victor. The plot is thickening and questions are arising throughout the entire book. There are so many twists and turns during this journey. I find myself liking Richard and Faith more and more. (They are part of Victor's Vampire family)Sin....hmmm..what should I say about him? He is a TRUE villain and I find myself clenching my teeth when his name is brought up. He is what we think of when we think of villain vampire. Cruel, blood-thirsty, full of hate, and just disgusting. Ugh....The last couple of chapters of this book are intense..There are no other words except intense. I could not put the book down and when I finished the last page I kept turning hoping there was more. I cannot say just how bad I cant wait to read the conclusion. WOW. What a cliffhanger?? REALLY!!!!!!!!

Well-Rounded
This is book TWO in the series Darkness Before Dawn.It picks up right after the first book as Victor becomes the new Lord Valentine and plans to better relationships between the humans and vampires. The Daywalkers, the new breed of vampires that are immune to the sun, are threatening to take over. Tension runs high between the humans and vampires as more blood is needed, and not enough donors are stepping forward after the threat of the Daywalkers. This makes the thirst a greater danger in the world as well. Dawn must travel across the country to try and stop the Daywalkers...I, personally, enjoyed the book. However, I'm a sucker for the cliche plot of a female heroine with a forbidden love interest. It was an interesting dystopian world of vampires "controlling" humans societies, and the vampires were written well. No sparkles, they burn in sunlight (exception of daywalkers), they sleep mostly at night, and the old vampires had the Victorian society where the younger generation is trying to break free from.Overall, it was a well-rounded book, BUT towards the middle of the book (I don't know if anyone else had this problem, or if it was just my copy) the pages were out of order. Luckily, the pages were numbered correctly, so for a couple of chapters I had to skip around to find the correct page to read next, but it eventually fixes and you can continue to read page after page.

Dystopian meet Vampires
The concept of this series drew me in. I loved Darkness Before Dawn. I was so impressed with the authors creation of this world were vampires have essentially created a dystopian world for humans. I fell in love with Victor in the first novel. In this novel, I could have used more Victor though. This is just my personal preference though and there really would be no reason to have a book series if Dawn and Victor just met, fell in love and then had no problems. As far as the world goes, it was amazing to see a city outside of Denver. LA was definitely not what I had pictured it being. I hope that in the next installment we get to see more cities and more of the heads of the original family vampires. And then there is Sin... I must say as far as villians go, I'm impressed with his plotting abilities. However, this doesn't change the fact that I hope Dawn and company bring him down!I'm very intrigued to see where this series heads going into the next novel. If you like dystopian novels and vampire romance novels, pick this series up. You won't be disappointed!

A True Page-Turner
This trilogy is sort of the perfect vampire story. Incorporating everything I love from all my favorite vampire books. Some may find that annoying and unoriginal, but I really appreciated it. It's a true page turner and it was nice to have that experience again. The more I read, the less intriguing I find a lot of stories - so it takes a lot to get me sitting on the edge of my seat anymore.Dawn's character is believable and her relationship with both Michael and Victor is flawed in a realistic way - yet endearing. London leaves clues throughout the book and foreshadows the entire way, but not to the point that you can completely figure it out. You're guessing but there's always the chance you're wrong, and half the time you are. The book just continues to escalate and in the end you're so caught up in the story that you just can't help but dive right into book 3.You have a slue of new characters in this story and all of them are awesome!

Awesome!
I was a little skeptical when I started this series. The cover of the books reminded me of another series I just git done reading. And while that series was good, I really wasn't in the mood to read another similar series. But after I read the 1st book, I was hooked. Now I've read the 2nd n while in excited to start reading the 3rd book, I feel like I should read as something else. As I've not seen anything pertaining to a 4th book in the series n I'm not ready for this series to end yet. I always feel lost after reading a great series as the darkness before dawn series has been. Please write a 4th book.
