Zebco Star Wars Spincast Reel and Fishing Rod Combo, QuickSet Anti-Reverse Fishing Reel

I thought the rods (2) were to small. The kids ages 4-8 had no problems with casting or tangles.

I originally purchased this for a derby in which contestants had to use a children's fishing rod and reel but after seeing how stiff the rod is I worried about it snapping if I hooked a large fish Soni bought another rod. This one serves nicely as a cat toy rod. It comes with a practice plug which is nice if you want to practice casting. You can adjust the drag but you can't change the reel with another one if it breaks. It comes prespooled but you can change the line on the reel. You could probably use it for ice fishing. The rod lights up brightly which is good for kids.

I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I was looking for a small inexpensive fishing pole to cast for my cats and I remembered having a great Zebco children’s rod and reel as a kid. So I searched on Zebco and found the perfect product. The fish included for practice casting that comes with it is perfect for playing with the kitties. They absolutely love it and the pole is nice and short so I can safely cast in my hallway. This would also be perfect for the children it is designed for. It works beautifully, is extremely easy to use and it LIGHTS UP. Kids will love it, have a great first experience fishing and probably become lifelong anglers. Love Zebco products!

We liked this rod overall - we would recommend it. But it does not light up. There is another Zebco Star Wars rod that does have light, this one is not it. We were confused because in the customer questions someone asked a question, about for how long did this product light up. And the manufacturer, Zebco, replied to the question saying "it only stays on for a little bit, and goes off". So we were confused. If the manufacturer says it lights up, you think it lights up. They confused us and get didn't get what we expected.

I bought this small fishing rod to play with my two kittens. They love chasing the plastic fish that came with the rod. I don't have to run around the house and drag their toys on strings. I just toss the fish away and start reeling.

I like that the light is bright and fully thru the whole pole. The reel and pole combo is good for small pan fish. Wish the light had an option to stay on, but turns it self off after maybe 25 seconds. Rod is stiff with little to no flex.

The media could not be loaded.  Exactly as advertised; perfect for your 5-8yo; fished it with the existing line that came with it and caught several perch her first time out. She loved the fact that it looks like a light saber because her hero is Rey

Already have caught their fair share of "tree bass". The rod is easy to cast with good line feed to give the distance so the child using it feels like they are using an"adult" rod.

Very good fishing rods for kids. My 7 yrs old daughter caught 8 fishes on her first fishing debut. The spin is smooth and she's enjoying the trip. Highly recommended.
