Exactly as advertised.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, as I expected, such lovely stories from the pen of Miss Read. I have quite a few of them now, and will keep dipping into them when I need some light relief.

Comforting and Cosy Novel
I've really looked forward each month to my Miss Read novel and this has been a lovely challenge to read them in order so that we can follow the character arc through. Although I am slightly concerned to see some of my favourite characters becoming frailer - Dottie and Winnie most noticeably. Also, for the first time, serious crime has been mentioned in the series with Dr Lovell stumbling across a group of car thieves. In true Miss Read fashion, they are dispatched with speed and efficiency. The police are called and they quickly disappear from the area. This novel covers a lovely part of the year. Spring through to the following spring, with the real focus on winter. I enjoyed watching my favourite characters celebrate the Christmas period. And talking of these characters, they are all back; Winnie, Dotty, Charles and Dimity Henstock and Ella. But there are plenty of new additions now. Charles' friend Tom moves into the retirement home with his beloved Collie; Jane and Bill are the new sensible wardens at the retirement houses ensuring their charges are well taken care of and attempting to make peace between some of the more over-bearing characters.Miss Read's trademark humour is dotted throughout. I find myself smiling at her many wry observations, my heart full of the joy to be found in nature. These are a truly comforting set of novels.

Well packaged & arrived on date specified.
This book arrived well packaged and on the date specified, it was exactly as described by seller. The inclusion of a little 'thank you' card from the seller was a lovely little touch and much appreciated. It is nice to thanked. Have already starting reading the novel and is all I expect from a Miss Read novel.

Thrush Green
I have read quite a few of Miss Read Books over many Years, about Thrush Green and Fairacre Village life, I have always thought how nice it would be to live in Villages like these, Miss Read as a way of taking you into the village life, you really come to know the characters as you read, and you don't want to leave, these Books are way of escaping the real World .

Gentle read in a hectic world
Miss Read is a great book for people who like village novels. If you are a fan of either Jan Karon or DE Stevenson, this is the series for you. You can read them out of order, but it is nicer to read them in order. Miss Read has two series - Thrush Green and the Miss Read series about a village school teacher. I love these and reread them on stressful days.

A good "read"
The book arrived surprisingly quickly from the UK, and it was in the condition advertised. I'm addicted to the "Miss Read" series, and this one allowed me to make sense of the following books in the series.

Wonderful Novel of Rural English Life
I love all of Miss Read's books. I've read all the Fairacre books and am now reading those about Thrush Green. If anything I like them better than Fairacre. I wish there was better editing, however, of these Kindle Books. I found many typos that are not in the printed editions.
