B-UP Protein/Nutritional Bar, Vanilla Peanut Butter, 2.2oz- 12 Count

After I learned Quest had changed their recipe and people were branching out, I started looking what else they had out there. I like Quest bars, but I'm not a huge fan of the texture. I actually really like the soft Ansi bar texture (some people hate it and liken it to play-dough), but the net carb count on those bars is a bit higher than I'd like since I am keto. Someone told me this was similar in texture and I was very keen on trying it after that.I took a chance and ordered three boxes right off the bat: Sugar Cookie, Vanilla Peanut Butter and Cinnamon Roll. I liked Sugar Cookie, didn't really care for the Vanilla Peanut Butter, but didn't hate it either and tried the Cinnamon Roll last. I opened the last box and grabbed the first one, unwrapped it and took a bite. Didn't taste like Cinnamon Roll... because it wasn't. They sent me a variety pack by mistake and I didn't even notice. The one I did try was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, which wasn't half bad but NOT Cinnamon Roll. I then dug into the variety pack and tried the Cinnamon Roll. I LOVED it. I actually hate the Quest bar Cinnamon Roll flavor. I think it's too fake sweet with not enough cinnamon flavor. This one however was right on the money for me! Too bad I wouldn't try the rest of the variety box. I was not a fan of Vanilla Peanut Butter, so I had no interest in trying the other Peanut Butter flavors and I hate anything Chocolate Mint. So I appealed to Amazon for being sent the wrong order. Their customer service is excellent and we worked it out quickly and in a way we were both happy with.I nervously ordered another pack of Cinnamon Roll after that and this time they got my order right! Whew!ETA: I just got another variety pack instead of the 12 bars of Cinnamon Roll I ordered. I've realized that both times I got the variety pack instead of the 12 bars of Cinnamon Roll I ordered, the seller was ZogoSportz. The time I got the correct shipment, the seller was Amazon. Just wanted to add this to make others aware.UPDATE: I left a review for ZogoSportz on what was happening and they apologized, said that it was actually a mix up in Amazon's labelling and pledged to work it out. They also sent me a free box of Cinnamon Roll flavor and offered me a 15% coupon on my next order. Glad to say they are trying to make it right!

I love these because they are mild and I don't get tired of the flavors. Kind of like whipped Quest bars. Good numbers for bodybuilders. They are the 1st protein bars I haven't quickly tired of and I've tried a lot of brands over the past 5 years. I agree with another reviewer who said it's better not to get them from amazon. I don't know what it is...the way they are stored or shipped, but I buy them from bodybuildingdotcom and they come fresh and soft like a thick cookie. Not like when I buy them here and they're more like taffy. I'm eating a sugar cookie bar right now that I got from bodybuildingdotcom and, if there was crystal sugar on top, I might be convinced it's the real deal....maybe...anyway, I've gotten them from amazon and they were tough to chew and tasted strange. Threw the box in the trash cause it wasn't worth trying to return. Also, the pricing is consistent for all flavors on bodybuildingdotcom . My favorite flavors (the ones I find myself reordering time after time) are Cinnamon Roll, Sugar Cookie, PB & J, Vanilla PB, Chocolate Chip Cookie dough and once in a while, the Red Velvet Cupcake. It's a little too sweet IMO so it's not really 1 of my regulars. I didn't like the Mint Choco Chip, but then I bought it here, so maybe I need to take my own advice next time I place an order?UPDATE: I just ordered 5 boxes of 12 bars of different flavors directly from Yup Brands' website. OMG what a difference! They have 2 new flavors, 1 is Lemon Pound Cake which is REALLY good. The Red Velvet Cupcake went from a ho-hum, too-sweet bar, to one of my favorites. Shipping was free and fast.Update: I'm still eating these, but the flavors are all different. They're great, but no longer like whipped Quest bars. Sometimes you can catch them selling them "Buy-1 box of 12-get-5 free". The chocolate PB and strawberry tart are probably my favorites.

I love Quest bars, especially the 17g of fiber. That has been reduced to 14g with the new formulation, not something that I particularly was happy about. When I found these, I thought my problem had been solved, even though the price is higher than for Quest bars, I was willing to pay it for 20g of fiber. I just tried the sugar cookie flavor. It is soft with no texture, which could be good or bad depending on your preference. I liked the nutrition stats. Everything looked good. Then I tasted it. It has absolutely no flavor. It is like chewing on putty. I think I am going to stick with Quest.ETA: I just tried the cinnamon roll flavor. It had slightly more flavor than the sugar cookie version, but only slightly. It tasted like cinnamon putty. Sure was hopeful that the flavor would match the nutrition stats. Disappointed that it doesn't.ETA: I took one of the sugar cookie and one of the cinnamon roll to my trainer, who I also got hooked on Quest bars. Since the Cinnamon roll bar from Quest is one of his favorites, I figured it would be the one he preferred. I was surprised when he said he liked the sugar cookie but felt there was an after taste to the cinnamon roll. I guess that's why more than one flavor and more than one brand is made. If we all liked the same thing, there wouldn't be a need.

I ordered the chocolate chip cookie dough bars first. I wasn't crazy about the taste but I still ate the whole box because these bars are absolutely AMAZING for losing weight. Seriously the insane amount of protein and fiber in these bars have helped me break through my stall. I ordered the sugar cookie to see how I liked this flavor and was amazed. The texture is SO much better than the chocolate chip cookie dough. These are super soft and fudgy and they make you feel like you are really getting a treat. But it is still working wonders for helping me lose weight. Seriously, I know the calories are a little high, but if you will substitute these as an afternoon snack instead of empty calories, you will see that you eat less during your next meal and the pounds will melt off.
