Great Purchase
We were very pleased with the fireplace (screen/glassdoors) insert. The installation was easy and much faster than we thought it would be. Well designed and sturdy. Very happy with the company. I would definitely recommend!

Excellent product
We were pleasantly surprised at the packaging quality and instructions booklet - what a rare thing these days! Over all quality seems very good; itโs heavy and the finish is smooth and consistent. The brackets and screws all appear to be top quality, too. We got the Large and even though it says the opening has to be 36โ wide or more, it managed to fit in our 35 1/2โ opening, so I didnโt have to cut bricks as I had expected; another pleasant surprise. I definitely recommend having a 2nd person hold up the unit while tightening the brackets in the fireplace opening so you can use two hands. Itโs a beautiful door unit once installed. The glass and screen doors all feel tight and smooth when opening and closing, and everything lines up perfectly. So weโre super happy with it. Weโll see how it lasts and update the review if needed. One note to agree with other reviewers: the screen doors get hot, as expected, so be careful! I use a paint can opener to pull them open (it has a nicely hooked flat end), and an old pot holder to close them. Also, they like to slam a bit when the magnets get close, so if you have a baby sleeping or need it quiet, just be aware youโll need to be careful to try and close it slowly.

Very nice, but could use some minor improvements in quality control and service
These doors are very nice and I like them. They add a simple style to my fireplace while protecting the rug from sparks. They installed quite easily. Honestly, the hardest part of the install was unpacking the doors from the box. This item arrives extremely well packaged for shipping. This is a good thing. A couple minor issues however with the install. 1 of the door handles screw threads were stripped and it wouldn't stay on the door. I contacted the company and they quickly shipped me a new one that installed without issue. The next issue I had was my hearth was not level. The doors could benefit from some levelers on the bottom of the door frame. I asked for advice from the company on how they would go about leveling the doors, but they did not provide any advice. I ended up using some metal washers and then stuffing some extra insulation in the small gap underneath. This was a problem with my house and not the doors, however it would have been nice if customer service had at least tried to offer some solutions to my issue. The last problem, and one I have not yet tried to contact the company on, is that I noticed the glass door no matter how much I adjust it, does not sit flush when closed at the bottom. The problem as I found out is the placement of the magnet at the bottom of the frame. It is in a spot that is not grabbing/contacting the metal frame around the glass. This is a small, but annoying issue. Overall great doors with some minor quality control issues and decent/but not great customer service. I would recommend them.

Great Quality, Easy Assembly and Install
What a great set of fireplace doors. My old set of doors had a curtain screen behind the glass doors that would get all kinked up and distorted over time, so to close it all the way you had to pull on the screen (instead of the handles at the top) and risk burning your hands. This set, instead, has screen doors which I expect will hold up better over time. Door glass is nice and thick, and since they do not run along a track (like my old doors), they fold flat and open up fully to either side, flush with the fireplace surround, so you can barely see them and so the internal screen doors can open obstructed. The handles are a bit modern/generic for my taste, but since they're black you can't really see them. I suppose you could dress up the unit with fancier handles, but I prefer the unit to be more invisible so that the attention is on the fire, not the doors. There are airflow holes that can be adjusted, supposedly to allow you to control how much air the fire gets, but since the doors cover the holes when their closed, and since you're not supposed to burn a fire with the doors closed anyway, I'm not sure I understand the purpose of these holes. I mean, if the doors are open, then these little holes do nothing to restrict the airflow to the fire, and if the doors are closed (and cover the holes), then the holes do nothing to increase airflow to the fire. No biggie, unless you were looking for a set of doors that could be closed when the fire is burning and you wanted to adjust the airflow when the doors are closed. As I understand it, though, the only glass doors that are intended to be closed on a burning fireplace are those on a wood stove fireplace insert, a much costlier product.

Beautiful, modern
I bought these fireplace doors to replace the rusted out ones from the 1990's that came with the house. The ones I replaced simply had two clamps on each side to hold it in place, so I figured it would be easy to replace them. I was wrong. The Ascot model I bought has a clamp towards the bottom of each side, and two clamps on the top of the frame. The side clamps were easy, the top clamps had both my son and I crawling into the fireplace to try to get them to stay put. We followed the directions, watched the video twice, and still couldn't get the bloody things to stop popping off after we tightened the screws and let go. I finally had to create a dent into the lintel to set the point of the thumbscrew into so they didn't slide off. I ordered the large size because my fireplace measured 28" high by 36" wide, which falls right on the line where the sizes split. I probably should have gotten the medium because we had to pull the screen away from the wall to get the pressure bracket into the inside most holes on the screen, then push the screen back against the wall. If the fireplace had been even a half inch smaller it would not have worked. It currently June in North Carolina so we have not had a fire in the fireplace yet so I can't comment on how it works with a fire in it. It is keeping the kittens out of the fireplace and the a/c in the room, which was my main goal at this time. It looks really nice, much better than the fake gold, rusted one I had there previously.

Perfect fit and replacement
This fireplace cover was a perfect fit and an easy install. Everything was packed well inside and after installing it this fireplace cover was a perfect fit and an easy install. It is a solid product, good thickness and looks absolutely great. Doors are magnetic and work well. This replaced an old brass fireplace cover that was in really bad shape. Very happy with the results.

(Used to be) Wow. Just wow. Solid product.
(Taking away four of the five stars from prior review. Quality has dropped significantly. Manufacturer saved a penny or three by making the top bracket screws so small that they fell through the slots in the bracket. Maybe they saved 50 cents in taking a product from perfect to inferior. Sad.) Not surprising that these are sold at the big home-improvement stores and everywhere else. Quality above reproach. Beyond that, their packaging ensured a safe, intact, delivery. Easy install after reading the directions and watching the YouTube video. Only complication was caused by a bit of irregularity by a former fireplace re-facer, but we coped. Not PH's fault. It's heavy... two-person install, definitely. Just did our first fire--- smooth and great. Definitely favor the double-hinged doors. If your fireplace is large, and you have the room, DEFINITELY go for the "Large" size. It looks great on a 36" fireplace.

Smoke problem
Smoke escapes from top onto bricks and is pain to clean after each use.
