Explosive Fun That Requires No Batteries
This is a great train accessory. Our four year old loves to add creative commentary while detonating the mountain. There are three plastic pieces that snap into the mountainside--they eventually get blown off to form a surprise tunnel. Little fingers can easily push the pieces together, and the whole assembly is durable. The track underneath is slightly curved and wooden. Included is one little wooden cargo train car that carries labeled TNT. Blowing up the mountain is easy—put the red stick of TNT into the hole at the top of the mountain, and press down. Kaboom! The toy makes no noise, but our kids are happy to witness an explosion while adding their own sound effects. The only downside is the TNT’s small size—we have boxes of train paraphernalia, and it’s easy for it to get lost among loose pieces. During those times, we just use this accessory as a fun tunnel until the stick of TNT is found again. The tunnel measures about 7” long and 6” high. The photos show where the three pieces fit onto the mountain, how it looks fully assembled, where and how the TNT fits into the top, what the snap-into connections look like, and the toy’s sturdy bottom.

Couple of niggles, but otherwise fun toy.
Got this for our 2 1/2 year old grandson. He loves it. (What kid [and their grandfather] doesn't like to simulate blowing something up?)Minor issues: the sticks of dynamite are on the small side, making my wife a little nervous about putting this in the hands of a 3 year old.The exploding pieces take a little work to reposition into the mountain after "an explosion".

cute!
cute and works fine. My 5 year old does have a hard snapping the pieces of the tunnel back together though. It is Brio, a solid company with quality products.

Great accessory for wooden train sets!
My 4 year old loves this train accessory. He is able to snap the pieces back together himself (after a little practice) and enjoys showing off his new piece to family and friends. Even without the rock pieces, it makes a great tunnel!
