This is not your average store-bought drain cleaner—this is industrial-strength, and it works accordingly. I used this on a slow/clogged drain that typical over-the-counter products couldn’t fully clear, and the difference was noticeable. It cuts through buildup (especially grease and hair) quickly and restores flow much more effectively than milder solutions. That said, this is a serious chemical (potassium hydroxide), and the warnings on the bottle are not exaggerations. You absolutely need to use proper care—gloves, ventilation, and careful pouring. A friend highly recommended this to me so I tried it out two times: 1. Bathroom sink was draining slow: likely due to hair trimmings. Put this in, maybe an hour later ran water through and it was 100% clear! Great! However.. my drain smelled bad afterward, so then I soaked it in vinegar for another hour. After that it has been perfectly clear and clean! 2. Kitchen sink: My bad: I let it get completely stuck. This stuff didn't help much - so my advice to you is to use this stuff once you notice water draining slowly (don't wait until it is stuck!). I would let this affect the review though - as I'm not sure any chemical could have solved it (solution below). I solved the stuck drain by first making sure the drain pipe had no other exits (can be air-tight). Then I poured in a mix of water and baking soda and waited a minute. Then I poured in vinegar and immediately closed my side of the drain creating an air tight seal. Seconds later - drain was clear, the mixture created gas that pushed the clog down! It works - but don't let your drain get stuck - use this PEQUA drain opener first!

This drain opener was recommended by my plumber and we have been using it for years. When our sink drains slowly, we pour about a half a cup down the drain, wait two hours and then flush with hot water. Sometimes it requires that you repeat the process. Well worth the price.

It works better than all the others I’ve tried. But it doesn’t clean the drain to the point water runs fast down drain. I used a whole bottle let sit for hours.
