After her parents die suddenly, young Mary Lennox would rather be alone than in the company of others. She has no friends. But Mary's lonely life changes when she moves from India to England to live with her uncle. There she discovers an astonishing and mysterious secret garden. Follow Mary's story as she finds her own place in the world. This easy to read adaptation of the classic novel is guaranteed to hook beginning readers not yet ready to tackle the original. Review: The only classic story my daughter would read - I love this series with its classic design and illustration. Surprisingly my daughter has read this story with interest at 7 years old. I went on to buy all the rest of the series but she didn't show much interest. It's good for me to have a quick read and have a glimpse of these classic stories though. Review: Classroom book study - I bought this for a small group book study. I teach 5th grade. The price was fair and I was able to purchase 6 copies. These 10 year olds are enjoying it.
