HMS mens Rooster With Fur Trim costume masks, White, One Size US

Works perfectly as a base for my Jacket cosplay. I painted mine and it turned out well I think. It’s my first cosplay and I’m not usually much of a painter. The fur is tricky to paint, very easy to overdo it which I knew so I was very careful. I tried a few methods but landed on simply brushing the fur with the paint brush and carefully (very slightly) blending it with a paper towel. If you want my advice, don’t blend it too much and don’t water down the paint, just dip the brush in the paint and dab almost all of the paint off onto a paper towel before brushing the fur with the damp brush. Then pat the fur dry with another paper towel. I don’t recommend using red paint at all on the fur unless you mix it with black, because it’s too bright and will stand out way too much. I’d recommend to use brown, black and maybe even a cream color (or yellow mixed with white and some black) if you’re going for an aged look. As for the rest of the mask, I had fun carefully brushing all the colors and details the same way but dabbing less of the paint off on the paper towel. Use another paper towel to pat down and blend paint so it doesn’t look too much like paint strokes. I used a little fake blood spray I got on Amazon for some of the blood drop details. Accidentally blended some of the fake blood into the fur because it doesn’t dry as fast as acrylic paint, so if you’re going to use fake blood, do it last. Also be careful with black paint and make sure to blend it well and only use it in areas you want to be shadowy. Use brown and black in shadowy areas where blood would pool. I also cut a few slits into the mouth of the beak to breath out of and superglued some black net inside the mask where I see out of, so people can’t see my real eyes behind the net near the nostrils. I did not cut out the chicken’s eyes, I just painted them black. Heavily considered it though, maybe I will in the future and put some black cloth behind them to make it look hollow. Overall perfect base for a Jacket cosplay. If you don’t want to do all the extra painting then just paint the eyes black and call it a day. Remember nobody cares more about your cosplay than you do, so nobody is going to judge your paint job. Don’t be too hard on yourself and just enjoy the experience of customizing your cosplay.

This mask is super bland by itself. I used another reviewers photo as a paint guideline and it turned out pretty okay. I just dipped a cloth in black acrylic paint and wiped it around to get the worn look. The hair was another hassle on its own… I couldn’t figure out how the other reviewer made his so PERFECT. I just ended up painting some brown, black and fake blood through the fur and it kinda looks okay. I wish I knew how he did it! Lol Anyway, pls buy. It’s worth.

Definitely up there with on of my stranger masks. Perfect for a hotline Miami/ jacket costume, or anyone trying to be a big chicken. (You do you right?) Absolutely love it. It did require washing the interior, and retained a latex smell on first wash, the second wash has removed the smell.

i think this mask is definitely really good especially for jacket i personally painted the eyes cause i wanted that jacket look to the mask just a bit more and after doing that i think it looks absolutely amazing, i definitely recommend this mask if you are planning on cosplaying jacket in anyway. you can see very well and there was little to no latex smell the fur they use does tend to shed but after brushing it and styling it the way i liked it, it wasn't shedding quite as much. definitely recommend.

I purchased this mask to be Jacket/Richard from Hotline Miami for Halloween. It complemented the rest of my outfit very well. In agreement with a couple other reviewers, I did experience a similar flopping to the side for the Rooster mask's crest. I was also able to wear the mask with my glasses on. The mask did shed the fuzz for me, but there is a ton of it to not go bald. I had this prop machete as the weapon of choice for the costume. I opted to not bring the BB gun in one of the photos to work. Disguise 93669 Machete Costume, Of the many rooster head masks out there, I feel this is the best looking one for a Hotline Miami costume.

The mask fits adequately while keeping a reasonable amount of vision and hardly any loose feeling. It can get pretty muggy in the mask, but what's to expect from a full covered head. The mask does shed, like some reviewers say, but it's nothing a brush and few pet grade lint rollers can't fix. Otherwise, awesome quality.

Product arrived very fast and exactly as described. Highly recommended!

There will be some shedding of the white fur material but the mask held up perfectly for the Hotline Miami costume. Just note that when you have it on and talk, it is extremely loud inside the mask.
