Best speakers for Pc under £100
I do get fed up with reviews that compare other speakers at vastly different price points; that makes no sense. For £100, you get a smart-looking set of speakers with a flimsy remote (it works just fine ) and all the leads you require to set them up straight out of the box. I pre-set bass and treble to midpoints and adjusted the final volume on my PC to my requirements; otherwise, it was way too loud. The size is perfect on either side of the 32" monitor, and you get reasonable sound staging. However, if the monitor is desk-mounted, it is probably best to use wedges to angle the sound. I'm definitely upgrading from my Logitech Z200, and I'm finally moving towards reasonable Hi-Fi sound without breaking the bank for occasional music use. I wish it were a two-year warranty for peace of mind.

Top drawer speakers
I was replacing an ageing IMac with a Mac Mini. The iMac sounded ok but as the mini only has a basic speaker I decided to upgrade. These arrived with typical Amazon efficiency and I connected them up with the supplied 3.5mm to twin phono cable supplied to the ‘master’ speaker, the ‘slave’ was then connected with the supplied coloured cable. Powered it up and all was good to go! Wow! To be fair they are not top end hifi speakers but placed either side of a monitor they are more than adequate for any of my needs and for less than £100. They struggle a bit at high volume but my ears were starting to complain anyway! At lower - more sensible - volumes they are fantastic. It’s a nice novelty to be able to removed the front grills and to have a remote control, but most users I think would use there computers sound controls. You will need a reasonably sized desk to place them along side your set up, but they could be mounted on the wall. They definitely do what they say on the tin. There is no Bluetooth however you can connect a second phono input device but there is no switching between the two. Just turn off the one you don’t need. All in all recommended.

Great little computer speakers
I've had these little speakers for a couple of years now, connected to my Acer computer in my office. They sit on a bookshelf behind my desk. They are great little speakers, with very clear sound & good bass for their size coming from the little 4" drivers. The dome twitters have a useful guard in front of them for protection, and there is a 1.5" flared bass port between the two. They look really nice with the wood-effect & silver casings, and I have removed the grilles, as I think they look & sound better like this. There are two phono inputs, Aux & PC, and this is the one I have connected my computer to. I'm not sure if there's any difference between the two. You can't switch or fade between the two inputs, so if they both have a signal, you will hear them both at the same time. They can achieve good volume levels if you turn them up, and this is easy to do via the little remote control. I mostly use them to listen to YouTube videos, and with my TV card. I also have a lot of music on Windows media Player. I'm really happy with these speakers, and they sound as good if not better than any others I've seen or heard. They do look really attractive as well, with the wooden sides.

Just wow! AND great for e-drum kit!! - Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers
EDIT: 18 Jan 2025... These are so good I bought another set for an electronic drum kit! I bought the first set of these speakers in June 2024 (original review below) and recently tested them on an Alesis Nitro Max drum kit, and they're superb for it indoors. Sound is clear, rich, punchy and gives the drums a proper full sound of the drums and cymbals it's emulating. It sounds excellent. I'm seriously impressed with these speakers given the price (this second set I bought again cost under a hundred quid) and quality of not just the construction but the sound too. Original review; I got these while they were listed at £99.99 with free delivery, and wow they're spot on! Easy enough to set up, and comes with a bunch of leads and cables to help get started. Also has remote for the volume, and has bass & treble controls on the side as well as a volume knob. We got them to enable our record deck to give its best, and crikey it worked! Sound quality is rich, full, from bass to treble, punchy and our vinyl hasn't sounded as good for years! Seriously impressed with the size, cost and sound of these little beauties. Overall very impressed indeed, they fill the room (indeed the house!) with rich, deep, clear music. I'm almost lost for words given the less-than-a-hundred-quid pricetag!

Really incredible speakers
Amazing build and sound quality, was worried about the lack of bass since there's no included subwoofer but it ended up being more bassy than my basic PC desktop speakers which do have a subwoofer, I've decided to keep these for my TV for watching/listening video/podcasts and gaming on my Playstation, it has really elevated the experience. The included remote makes it very convenient to adjust the audio levels and allows me to set and forget, as I mainly control my audio through the TV. I'm really happy about the fact you can also adjust the bass/treble via knobs on the sides, my logitech speakers only has a bass dial in comparison. Audio is great and clear, and the finish on the speakers themselves is amazing, very easy to setup and if I ever need another set of speakers for whatever reason I'll definitely be looking at this brand from now on.

Very Nice.
The speakers arrived quickly and very well packed, as always. The build quality is excellent for speakers at this pricepoint. RCA to RCA and RCA to 1/8" jack are included so connection to laptops, mp3 players, PCs and even old school hifi components (at least those with RCA outputs) is covered. The remote is what it is, really. Volume up, volume down and mute. Basic and small but functional. Onboard controls are Bass, Treble and Volume. My only issue with these is that as the volume is digital there is no indication of where the volume actually is so you don't know whether the speakers are at full volume. Added to this, the knob doesnt have a "stop," it'll just continue to turn after full volume is reached. It's a small niggle but a niggle none the less. The bass and treble controls work well, turning up the bass doesn't result in a mud bath, which is nice. The claimed output of about 20w a side is , i reckon, accurate. There's plenty of volume for your average living room stereo or your gaming setup. The reported hiss isn't at all as bad as others have reported. Barely noticeable to me. The sound quality is the important part and these sound superb. I've tried gaming, my HiFi and also my phone through them. You could put your TV through them but i haven't tried that. For the price I'd call them a bargain. HiFi purists won't be impressed as the output isn't entirely flat, they seem to have something of a boost on the bass channel, but for everyone else they're excellent. Easily 8/10, could've been a 9 if that volume control had some sort of indicator.

Nice speakers
Nice speakers. They seem robust. Easy to set up. Front grill comes off it you want to see the surface of the actual speakers. Remote control. Good enough sound for my PC and plenty loud.

Edifier a Real High-Flier
Amazing speakers for under £100. Hitched them to my new Sony turntable and couldn't believe the quality. Vinyl albums 50 years old dusted down and brought back to life with a dynamism and depth I never knew they possessed. Crisp treble notes, resonant bass and incredible effects. Treble may be a little too sharp and jarring for some tastes but easily fixable using independent controls on active speaker. Fills the room with immersive resurrected nostalgia from the seventies and eighties. And a handy remote means instant control of volume. Unbeatable package whether listening to rock or electro-pop. Edifier is certainly a high-flier in this field.

Perfect packaging, easy setup and excellent sound quality
I bought these speakers to connect them to my Audio-Technica AT-LP120X turntable. Despite being an entry-level, I'd say that the sound quality is really high! The setup of the speakers (as well as the connection with the turntable) is easy and intuitive. I think these speakers are a good choice in the case of someone willing to maximize quality/price trade-off!
