Amazing Glow!
The media could not be loaded. I was a little skeptical at how bright these were going to be, But they are really amazing! They were dimmer the first few days, but as you can see in the video they brightened up quite a bit after about a week. They are easy to take care of. They need sunlight, a bit of oxygen, and the nutrient. They sit in the sun of a frosted window, I stir them every few days for oxygen, and I leave the corks undone unless I stir them to show them off. Other than that I've just been giving them a drip of the nutrient every 2 weeks. Great gift idea for budding scientists or friends who love nature. I'm going to put some in different sea creature shaped glass bottles and give them as gifts.

No bioluminescence
Purchased these, followed directions, but the dinoflagellates NEVER bioluminescent. Not happy at ALL.

It Glows
The media could not be loaded. Amazing stuff. I bought a cheap light with a timer 12 on 12 off and my colony has tripped in size. Almost ready to do a expansion feeding to double the amount. Best light is in total darkness.

Great if you know one thing not in the package instructions.
My colony of pyrodinos is doing great. I am using the bio orb that they sell and the blue boost nutrients. I'm giving them a 4 star that could jump to 5 if they correct the package directions. If you go to the website instructions it will tell you to open the orb every couple of weeks for air exchange. This is not stated anywhere in the printed instructions that come with the orb. Because of this my first colony died out and I had to restart it. Wondering what I did wrong I searched the website before starting and found this difference. Now I open the orb for a half hour or so every weekend and the colony is thriving so much I'm going to have to split it to two containers soon. If you are starting a new colony just follow the website and hopefully have the same luck as I have the second time around.

Glowed for 2 days, now no more…
It arrived and I transferred the plankton to a glass bottle. Kept it in a location that gets indirect bright light. The organisms glowed the first 2 days, I had a nice layer of them floating on top…now they’re all sunken to the bottom and no more bioluminescence. My house is kept at 72F. For the price, and the longevity, it’s not worth it. I’m pretty local to the original source so shipping and weather shouldn’t affect the liveliness and longevity of this.I’m not even sure if I can get a refund at this point.

Dead in a week
The algae glowed for a few nights after adding the "food" (just sea water) then they turned brown and stopped glowing before the week's end. I followed the instructions and gave them correct light, air and "food." I had high hopes for this, but now I'm just out $50.

Absolutely Magical!
There was a problem with the order shipping that led to the expiration of my order. I left a message after I was sure of the expiration to let them know and I paid for another batch. It was not their fault. The great ones of PyroFarms promptly responded and told me that they were sending more. Excellent example of "The Golden Rule". Bravo! Thank you PyroFarms for renewing my faith in humanity! These are absolutely magical! I plan to keep and grow them for the rest of my life! Thank you PyroFarns for this little being of Paradise! - Dwayne Archer
