Great balance between looks and function
I have an umbrella I got when I bought a new car. It does the job fine but it is huge, heavy and I feel like a prat walking around like a free advert for the car brand. I just leave it in the boot so I have it whenever its needed but the rubber handle started breaking down on it during the heatwave, leaving a very sticky surface that makes it not nice to hold and it leaves black marks in your hand.I looked at many different umbrellas, initially at the golf umbrellas which are both huge and sometimes gaudy. Then there was another variety that promise they can stand up to a hurricane and have "features" which I'm not sure are that useful. If it is that windy I will stay in and if I have to go out in a really string wind a hood will do.I settled on this one because I have some Samsonite luggage and it is of a good quality, this umbrella is is not different and is well made and sturdy. It may not be able to claim to be the strongest but its more than enough for me. Being made out of wood it has some flex to it but I like that, the handle has a crook rather than a rubber grip and this should avoid the maternal melting in the boot if it gets warm in the summer.Size wise it is generous for one and big enough for me and the wife to get under in a dash to the shops or back to the car. If it was for long walks in the rain I would have probably picked a golf size version. Overall I am very happy, it is not the strongest or the biggest but I like the material. Wood is nicer than rubber for a handle and it is quite light and easy to open. I liked the idea of a crook because if you grab it to go to the shops and put it down you can hang it off your arm while you fish out your money or cards.Time will tell if I was right or not but I am happy with it and would recommend it if your requirements are similar to mine.

Replacing a much more expensive umbrella - it's better!
After buying a 'London Undercover' umbrella, I returned it as the quality didn't live up to the £125 price tag. In the meantime I still needed an umbrella so I bought this soon after.Unlike the LU umbrella, this had a very good automatic opening feature so that I don't have to fumble around like an idiot when I have a briefcase in the other hand or shopping bags. It's not a good look. The handle and shaft are both hardwood while the ribs and struts are made from fibreglass. I refuse to ever buy steel ribs on an umbrella, like the ones you see stuffed into street bins after a storm.120cm is big, so easily enough for 2 people in light rain. However, you'll need a strong wrist in windy conditions unless you use 2 hands.Blows London Undercover umbrellas out the water while costing a fraction of the price. Classic looks, metal parts, wonderful build quality and a known brand name.Recommended

Exactly as expected
Umbrella is strong, waterproof and easy to use one handed. The auto opening means the umbrella can be put up with one hand and held with one hand even in strong winds. The canopy is strong and hasn’t let me down yet
