Works great, I wanted it to make lightScribe labels. I was a little confused about the included power supply connection. Do I need a power supply? what the heck! Once I figured out whether my laptop had USB 2 or USB 3, ( I'm a 3), I plugged it in without the power supply cord.... and it worked. I own Sure Thing disc labeling software, a shout out for them. That works great too.When my PC died, it takes away your software you that you bought on-line: there's no DVD re-load it. Went to the site and re-loaded Sure Thing in the new PC without any hassles. Always save your access codes on a piece of paper someplace. PC's always die. Be ready for it.

Works great! On Windows 10 Home and Nero 7 Cover Designer Essentials. Installed Lightscribe System Software for Windows from Lightscribesoftware.org then the Nero Cover Designer Essentials (this was bundled with a purchased Lightscribe DVD Drive a while back). Don't forget to flip the Lightscribe disc with the data side up when you are ready to label it. Very affordable, thank you. Picture shows labeled DVD at Normal Quality,

It is immediately recognized on my XP laptop, and works fine there. However, the BIOS on my Windows 10 computer no longer recognizes the drive with LightScribe capability. That should be made evident in the description of the item.

I bought this for the lightscribe capability. It is fine for this, but it falters somewhat when recording audio cd's.

I have never done a one star in all my years of buying from amazon. Unfortunately I waited almost a year to try this out. First, there was only one cable in the box--it says two a power cord and a data cord. My box only had a power cable--no data cable. I just purchased an Amazon data cable. I am unable to get the item to work. The light comes on and I can open it. I put in the light scribe disc and pull up my lightscribe software. It says no lightscribe on this computer. Thank goodness I only paid about $30. Actually, I am totally bummed.

Works OK but has many issues. One is that the tray always gets stuck on open. I have to pry it open with my finger to get a disc in or out. I tried removing the drive from the enclosure and putting it back in, but it continues to have the same problem. I don't know if it trying to open the drive and always failing will eventually break the opening mechanism. Lightscribe function is pretty hit or miss. When it works, it does a great job. When it doesn't, it skips every other line and then errors in the middle of the job. I don't know if it's an issue with the drive or the application, but the application has worked well for me in the past with other Lightscribe drives.I'm not sure why many reviews have issues with powering the drive. The USB3.0 cable it comes with works fine on a desktop. On a laptop, you have to use the additional cable that plugs into the circular power connecter on the back of the drive along with the USB3.0 cable because many laptops don't provide enough power over one USB port.

I purchased this drive primarily to be a lightscribe workhorse for a DVD project, and so far it's held up well. I've had it for just over a month and have etched 55 DVDs. I've only burned a couple discs on it thus far, but so far it's worked perfectly with no errors. This drive is an EXCELLENT value for the price.

Works as advertised. Using it for my Roland Organ because it has a plug for 5 volt power which my Organ does not supply 5 v. on its USB interface. Price is also good
