Works on Visible Cell Plan
I got this phone on refurb from seller Macalegin. They really know how to rate their phone condition, because I ordered "excellent" condition and that's what I got in the mail. Plus everything functions correctly and they even respond back to e-mails, because I wanted clarification whether I was going to get an unlocked phone with the sim card/expansion memory tray. They replied back the next day and said they physically checked that yes I'm getting the unlocked Samsung Galaxy phone with both tray slots. Macalegin also sends the correct 2.0 A Samsung fast charger and USB cable, unlike other vendors that send the cheaper after market charger/cable that doesn't do the fast charge. There seems to be some confusion on whether the Samsung Galaxy S20 works with Verizon's mvno (mobile virtual network operator) Visible. So let me provide some visibility to this unclarity. Sorry for the pun, I couldn't help it 😊 The US factory unlocked Samsung S20 has the designator SM-G981U1 and works on the big three: Verizon, ATT, and T-Mobile, as well as their mvnos. US carrier specific models will have the designator SM-G981U and you must verify with the vendor that they are indeed unlocked. Verizon has their own variant SM-G981V with less RAM 8GB, instead of the factory 12 GB, and the tray only has 1 sim card slot, compared to the factory model that has the sim card slot AND an expansion memory card slot. Markets outside of the US have the designator SM-G980, SM-G981B, and SM-G981F. Canada is SM-G981W, China is SM-G9810, and Korea is SM-G981N. These models may only operate on 4G LTE and have 8 GB RAM, depending on which one you get. The Galaxy S20's debut is March 2020, so keep in mind that this phone is getting a little long in the tooth technology wise. But it still does the basics well and is a rare beast in that it still has memory expansion if you take lots of pics or download huge pdf files. I installed the Visible sim card in the factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20 today, connected to wi/fi at McDonald's (thanks McDonalds free wi/fi), checked and installed updated software, opened the Visible app to activate the phone, and then restarted the phone. Everything works like a champ!! Two pics are included to show Visible locked onto the 5G signal without issue. Don't forget to call your voice mail and set that up also. Updates work good and Im currently on Android 13 OS. The only issue I noticed so far is that the voice mail icon that shows you have voicemail is missing in the top left corner, so you have to check your voicemail if you missed a call. Final thoughts: Make sure you get the correct phone sent to you, because there are different variants of this model that may or may not work with your cell provider. Still holding it down like a champ
I bought this phone a while ago thinking I’d upgrade in a year. It’s been way longer than that and I still haven’t. Why? Because this thing refuses to die. Battery life? Still decent. Not “two days straight” decent, but enough that I don’t have to live next to an outlet like a phone gremlin. The screen? Stupid nice. Everything looks crisp and buttery smooth. I scroll through apps I don’t even use just because it looks cool at 120Hz. Camera? Way too powerful for someone who mostly takes blurry pics of their food and accidental front-facing selfies. Still, every once in a while I take a photo that makes me question if I should become a travel influencer. It’s fast, it still runs everything, and it hasn’t exploded yet. That’s a win in my book. If you’re on the fence about grabbing one used or keeping the one you’ve got—trust me, it’s still got fight in it.

DON'T BOTHER WITH PURCHASING AN AMAZON RENEWED PHONE
I purchased this phone based on the reputation of Amazon and their 'Renewed' phones. About 3-4 months after I received it I had a few instances of being called and the phone calls went straight to voicemail even though I did not have my phone set to airplane mode. Over the next couple months I had times that my text messages would not go through. I knew it was not the Network Verizon as my 2 boys have their phones on my plan and they were right next to me and their phones worked. Then a big issue started happening in which the 'voice' part of the phone only worked intermittently. I use Bixby & Google Assistant, and even though they were set up properly, they only worked sometimes and not others. Bixby would perhaps hear and pop up on the screen, but not respond to my voice for the request. Other times it worked correctly. Just yesterday and today alone I have had to reboot my phone 3 times when I could not use either of those or my talk to text as the microphone and speaker were not working. I contacted the seller first - never heard from them. I next contacted Amazon two days in a row and was told there is nothing they can do. I just finished with my last chat being told this once again. I told them that had I known I was paying $200 for a phone that would only work a few months - I never would have purchased it. This is what was erroneously in their item description: About this item This pre-owned product has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon qualified vendors. This product is in "Excellent condition". The screen and body show no signs of cosmetic damage visible from 12 inches away. This product will have a battery that exceeds 80% capacity relative to new.

Good older model Samsung.
So far working great. although google and samsung are fighting to be the main character it has all the features and up to date apps i was lookinfor after 4th attempt with offbrand(indepenent manufactures). Iphone body (delicate) with android OS and functions. Terrible Even with warranty you stuck with a paperweight. If you dont NEED specific features just get any phone otherwise stick with samsung. Although i dont understand why it costs a bit more but maybe thats a samsung thing. Dont forget the case! Storage is ok. I added an sd card.

get it
this phone is amazing value in the 150-200 price range. it was samsung's flagship model in 2020 which is recent enough to still be a great modern phone. hard to find good refurbished phones in this pricerange that beat the performance and reliability.

Would order again
Worked good for me. Idk about scratch resistance. Never paid much attention to that. Had a case and screen protector. Camera was good

Last available phone with WL charging and SD card
As the title says, there is not many options for WL charging and SD card in newer phones with Android 11 and up. Besides this phone, only Sony but they cost $800 and up. This one was $180 which is hard to beat. I have had it for over a month and it works great. Overall. Cons: 1. The finger reader under the screen is really bad. My old LG had it on the back and it was 100% reliable and super fast. You grab the phone and it's ON. With the Samsung, it's hit and miss. Maybe 50% success and you have to look where you put the finger and how. It's not intuitive at all and makers should go back to normal readers. 2. The face recognition is useless as the camera has to face you and you have to face the camera. Forget unlocking the phone while on the table (must be tilted first), or next to your body. Or if you wear sunglasses. Or with facial cover (in winter) or while you drink or eat... I would take back or side fingerprint reader any time. And no, Apple is not any better. 3. The USB port is very loose and detaches from USB cable (many tested) with the slightest touch. Forget charging in your bag. 4. The camera app is not user friendly. Like you have to switch between photo and video settings to take video. My phone 10 yrs ago had a dedicated video button in photo settings for a quick video snap. 5. The general UI is wonky. Not my first Samsung but I don;t remember the last one S6 was this bad. Pros: Besides the charging and SD 1. It's small 2. It doesn't lag. It has 12 GB RAM. Much better than most of new phones. 3. It's cheap! It's so much better deal than virtually any new cheap phone and better than new phone double or triple its price. So, even with the shortcomings, it's a clear 5 stars

FYI - Not eSIM compatible
Buyer beware - this phone will say it is esim compatible and your carrier will think it's esim compatible as well. However, it seems Amazon refurbished previously locked phones, unlocking them, and then selling them. For some reason, the phones are not truly unlocked and will fail when downloading an esim at 88%. This could also be the fault of Samsung, I'm not entirely sure. After hours of chatting with customer support, it seems this has been a known issue for years with the phone that they don't really care about. Also the battery life isn't great after a year. Poor thing needs a usb-c like life support once a day. Good phone for the price though lol
