This rug is now I. Front of our fireplace. Our puppy loves to lie down in front of the hearth. It’s a nice rug. Seems well made.

This is the perfect size for the place in front of my fireplace to protect my hardwood flooring. I've had a couple of small embers land on it and there is no damage. Even though I don't lay or sit on it, it is thick and cushy but the wool makes it a little scratchy. I recommend a rug protector to keep it from sliding out of place. It didn't seem to shed like other reviews indicated and it vacuums clean easily.

Just like the others said, I laid it down in front of the hearth and my dog came right over and plopped down on it. Like it was just for him. Lol!

My parents have a wood-burning fireplace. We bought this as a gife and it was a perfect fit for the front of their hearth. My mom thought it was so beautiful that she did not want to put it in front of the fireplace because she was scared my dad would mess it up! Definitely recommend.

I bought this to use in front of my fireplace to prevent burns to my new wood floors and it definitely does the job. It is nice and thick and stays in place.

My people put down some new wood floors so they purchased the rug for additional protection on the side of the wood stove. Looks decent, and is fairly thick. I've always liked wool rugs. I can't say what will happen to it if a spark hits it. However, I immediately realized this was a prime lounging location on cold winter days, so I staked my claim. I'm getting drowsy just thinking about the thick, comfortable rug next to the warm stove. Also, since the rug is on side of the stove, I can remain in place (and supervise) when my people need to add wood or rekindle the stove. I highly recommends for other dogs. Enough typing for me, time for nap. I'll be on the rug...

We were looking for a replacement for a hearth rug. Our primary concern was a rug that would protect the wood floor from the occasional popping ember. Our secondary concerns were aesthetic and comfort.The Minuteman hearth rug hits on all points.It's comfortable. It feels great under barefoot. The pile is much softer than I would have expected with a wool rug.It looks great. The colors are vivid. The build quality looks good. I can't speak to durability, but after a few months of use, it shows no signs of wear.Lastly, I've seen it arrest a good sized burning ember. The natural wool did its job. I was able to remove the ember safely and the rug showed no signs of burn or wear from it.
