If by "it" you mean does the device come with sample code? The answer is "No". But there is a huge volume of info on YouTube and on the internet. Just google either SR 04 sensor or the part number of this one. Hope that helped.

Is this an automatic or controlled version?

If you're asking whether the device will transmit and receive at regular intervals the answer is no. The device requires a 10us wide active LOW pulse (I send a 50us wide pulse just to be safe). Then the device will return a pulse whose width is proportional to the distance measured. There are a number of different C++ functions that will perform this for you: Pin() and newPin() are two that come to mind. Google them for more info. Hope that helped.

Can I use with esp8266? And which one pwm or uart?

Short answer: Yes you can. And you can use either version depending on what you're trying to do. One version just runs continuously, while the other requires that (in your case) the ESP8266 output a 10us minimal active LOW trigger pulse. That pulse tells the device to send an ultrasonic burst toward the target. The device then switches to "Receive" mode and waits for an echo back from the target. The pulse width of the echo pulse is proportional to the distance from the target. There is an enormous volume of information on the subject on the internet. Hope that helped.

Yes--assuming that you have an ANSI C compiler (and I imagine that you do) there is a huge volume of info on YouTube, as well as on various forums. The only difference is that this device requires an active LOW trigger pulse of 10us minimum pulse width. Hope that helped.

Waterproof Ultronic Sonic Sensor great for Hydroponic tank measurement - Use Arduino "ping" sketch.

Lacking is English instructions, yet with only four wires simple to figure out. Sensor is PWM output well suited for using the basic Arduino "ping" sketch to monitor and serial monitor to output reading. Bench testing checks out with sensor reading water level in 5 gal Home Depot Orange bucket. Sensor mounted on removal cover with two holes cut in cover so sensor can see inside water level. Sensor will be integrated into garden system monitoring tank water level. Best sensor found so far at this price/value point.

Won't last long

Purchased three of these. All of them were the exact setup using an Arduino Uno and the new ping library. They work perfect and nice and stable for a while and then fail. First one lasted 4 months. The second and third lasted less then 24 hours. NOT waterproof. The rubber seals around the transducers don't seal properly. So basically there worthless.
