BIG cup/saucer Made in England!
Firstly, I know and love Roy Kirkham English-made fine china/porcelain cups, mugs and saucers, and have used the brand for a good ten years, in and out of the microwave and dishwasher. I've also used my RK teapots of varying styles and sizes for tea parties. These are strong enough for daily use but nice enough for company. I've got a good deal of it on display in a few rooms from the kitchen to the Dining Room.Secondly, I love English Chintz patterns, Vintage style, Roses, and the Blue and white look and in dishware. BTW, the blue roses are bluer in person and not greyer as some photos seem to show.I bought this Blue Roses English Chintz design cup and saucer set a while back, came back for another set last spring, and now I'm back for my third. I still use the first big beautiful blue and white cup and saucer almost daily, and the other set is on display in my entryway of reds, whites and blues.I'm usually in a hurry and therefore a bit rough on dishes and things, but I haven't broken, chipped or cracked a RK piece yet. There's a few (tea? spoon?) stains in cups/mugs that I'm not quite sure how to get out yet but I guess I need to do the research. Nonetheless, I LOVE RK things - and there are so many patterns/pieces I haven't been able to get yet, but am always on the lookout for the next RK item. All things considered, RK is great bang for the bucks so far. You might want to try something in their line.
