Got it this morning. Tested open-close action. Very smooth and seems sturdy.Not tested yet for durability. The slip cover for when its closed has velcro closer and fits the closed canopy without having to pleat it back to original tightness--this feature alone makes this umbrella a keeper. Can't tell about the UV protection, but fabric seems dense enough, so it looks like this feature probably works, too. Color very rich dark green, near black. It;s slightly heavier and bulkien than other auto-open umbrellas I've had, but it fits my large purse OK . I'm really pleased with this purchse!

Perfect for either sex, made very nice, very strong if in a lot of wind! I know I would appreciate it for sure.

The umbrella is a great color and size. Opens and closes well. The out case is too tight for the kids to get the umbrella and the strap broke within the first month. So umbrella is 5 star but bag/case is 1 star.

Thank you!********************I finally had a chance to use this today, which is a cold and very rainy day. The first time I opened it up it did so perfectly. Got in my car, pushed the button to close it and again it worked perfectly. I was pretty happy.However, when I got to my destination (Ironically at Kohl’s where I was returning another item), it wouldn’t open no matter what I tried. It was absolutely pouring out so I tried to open it manually but it had no way to stay open. I ended up holding it near the top of the umbrella to get some shelter as I made my way to the door. By the time I got back to the car I was soaked. I needed to make another stop and didn’t even bother to try to use it...I couldn’t get much wetter than I already was.I am returning it for a refund and will look to buy a manual umbrella.The two star rating is that it looks nice and has great coverage when it works, as well as the no hassle return.

works well, and does the job the one thing i can say is that the open/close mechanism is good but since its plastic it will break in time.

I bought this over 3 years ago but I have only used it maybe 5 or 6 times. The rest of the time it resided in my vehicle beside the driver's seat. This morning, with rain coming down hard and the wind gusting, I confidently took the cover off, cracked the door open sliding the unopened unit outside before pressing the button. It extended sharply and fully but didn't deploy. I shook it without effect and finally manually pushed the slide fully up to deploy but it would not stay open. I have manually opened and closed it multiple times, trying everything I could find on the internet but to no avail. Nothing that is observable is damaged, bent, or broken. The white tension strings (actually a single string attached at the top and looped around something in the shaft) are looped outward when forced open and draw tight when not. I can see no way to disassemble it, except by driving out drift pins in a few places, to see what is "broken" inside. In my experience, that will be a one-way trip just to satisfy my curiosity, simply adding a step, before tossing it in the trash. I'll post an update if I do that and can provide any beneficial information.

Got a new job where I have to park and walk a few blocks to get to the office. I have never really has use for an umbrella because it's rain and I won't melt but Oregon rain and office attire don't mix. I read lots of reviews, ended up getting this one in the green. Absolutely love it. It is a true double layered wind resistant top. The reflector makes me feel better as I am walking in the dark as the days get shorter. It was bigger than I thought it would be but it's not a bad thing. I had to read the instructions because I've never had a click button umbrella before. It does seem rather tight getting it back into short mode but when other people have used it they have no problem. Must just be me! I often just leave it extended and put it on the floor on top of a rag. Highly recommend!
