This works great for car camping… I can use my backpacking stove with less expensive propane canister.

This adapter fit perfectly on my 1-lb Coleman propane canisters so that I could use a larger and much cheaper fuel supply for my micro stove. The adapter screws easily onto the larger sized threads of the propane canister and then you can attach the smaller butane-style fitting to the adapter. No leaks and no noticable difference with the burn. Works just as intended and saves you a bunch of money not having to use the smaller and more expensive butane-blend canisters. The only thing to note is that because propane boils at a much lower temperature than butane, the canisters for propane are built thicker so if you're backpacking, you'll add a little extra weight from the canister when using propane. However, propane burns hotter and will still work great in close to freezing temperatures compared with the boiling point of butane being around 30 deg F so just another consideration.

Does exactly what it states. I just keep with my stove, making it easy to grab whatever canisters are available. I’ve been using for a few years now - zero issues, and still works and looks like new.

Just what I needed.

I purchased this for two reasons, to practice backpacking recipes at home and in case of emergency. I have a MSR Pocket Rocket as my backpacking stove and that is what I use with this adapter. I live in the fire prone region of the west coast and it isn’t unusual for my power to be shut off for a couple days during peak times and this provides me an ability to cook. I also like to make my own meals for camping/backpacking and it is nice to try them with cook campware before they fail on the trail. The long and short of it is that propane cylinders are a lot cheaper to use then isobutane, especially when not camping and weight isn’t an issue.

Tested the treads on arrival to my brass 7/16 fitting, tight secure fit. Body is aluminium but seems well built. Valve pin is brass. Delivery was fast and item arrived the next day (through Amazon). Time will tell how it holds up compared to a full brass fitting, however it seems that it will be fine for the intended purpose/use I want it for.

Absolutely brilliant item. Works exactly as expected with zero leaks. Latest gen Jetboil runs perfectly from it and opens up a lot of opportunity to use different gas bottles in an emergency.

This is perfect as we brought a new Cobb Grill gas model and purchased the big canisters from Bunnings and it needs the little screw in top so this adapter allows you to use the other sized canisters.
