To begin, I’ve been using Jack Black Dual Defense for over a decade now. I decided to explore new options and give something different a try. Overall, it’s a solid product. While it may not be as silky as my long-time daily moisturizer, it’s easy to apply and quickly absorbed without leaving a greasy residue. So, no complaints there. The scent is typical for a daily lotion, and the SPF is a significant plus. The biggest drawback is the bottle. I highly prefer the micro pump on the Jack Black Dual Defense over the common squeeze bottle type. With the micro pump, there’s a lower risk of it popping open if I throw it in my gym or travel bag. Plus, I can ensure I get the same amount with each use. On the other hand, the squeeze bottle with a larger hole can sometimes come out too quickly, and I’ve found myself occasionally using too much or needing to go back for seconds. Overall, I’m not entirely convinced that switching to a new daily moisturizer will be permanent, but I’m willing to give it a few months to see how it goes.

First, I like that the Brickell Men's Daily Defense SPF20 Face Moisturizer for Men is unscented option. Personally, I don’t like battling product scents: body wash, deodorant, cologne, moisturizer, etc. so to the extent I can, I minimize using scented products. So Brickell’s unscented facial moisturizer is perfect in that regard for me. Second, I really like how quickly the product absorbs into my skin. There is nothing worse than having to spend a lot of time working a product in, that is not the case with Brickell Daily Defense SPF20 Face Moisturizer. This is very nice for me as I am bald and therefore apply the product from the back of my head, down the front of my neck, covering my scalp, ears, face, nose and most of my neck in the process. Fortunately, a little dallop goes a long way! Next, after I have applied the moisturizer, there is no greasy residue left behind. The moisturizer is completely absorbed leaving my skin soft and smooth to the touch (see photos). Have used other brands of facial moisturizer with sunscreen. I was a bit curious how this one with zinc oxide would work...flashbacks to may days as a pool lifeguard with the heavy, white zinc oxide cream of the day slathered on my nose and ears especially. Although this product is reminiscently the same color, it is not heavy like the older zinc oxide products I mentioned, rather it is light, and as stated above absorbs readily. Having used Brickell Daily Essential Facial Moisturizer for some time, I feel it helps my skin feel and appear more supple and soft. And although only SPF20 (compared to SPF50 of the older products) it helps protect me from the ravages of the sun. It is my hope that the combination of the sunscreen and moisturizing properties of Brickell's Daily Defense SPF20 Face Moisturizer will help combat and delay or at least minimize the noticeably of wrinkles and sun-related damage as I age. My experience using the Brickell Daily Defense SPF20 Face Moisturizer for Men has been excellent. I will continue using Brickell Daily Defense SPF20 Face Moisturizer to protect my bald head and face, and highly recommend it to others.
