If I could give this more stars I absolutely would! the fit is spot on, protects my face from the sun, its thin and light weight and it keeps me cool without getting the hat wet! I have bought several of these because of how well work as I spend a lot of time outside in the summer. They are not expensive and they are absolutely worth your money and work better than I even imagined!

Bought this bucket hat to wear to the pool this summer and it worked out just fine. It has two snaps that you can raise part of the brim up and then it’s got a chin strap that can be cinched down to your throat if it gets windy out and you’re afraid to have my blow away it’s very lightweight. It folds up very easily for travel and works great to protect my head when I’m out in the sun, well-made and I think it should last for quite some time.

I just got this hat and have taken it out a couple of times so far, temps in the high 80's, humidity around 50%, and very sunny. Wetting it down seems like a waste of time. It was completely dry in under an hour and left little ability for the hat to wick sweat off your brow. This feature might work better in a more arid climate but be prepared to wet it down frequently. Also, the brim is very floppy and heavy after wetting it down. Snapping the sides up in a cowboy hat style gives the brim more rigidity but reduces the sun-protection a wide brim hat offers. I have a pretty good sized melon and it fit me well without being too tight. I wouldn't recommend for smaller sized heads and definitely not for children. I preferred to wear it dry, where the hat could absorb sweat and the brim wasn't so heavy and floppy. It's thinner material than most baseball hats and does a good job of reflecting sunlight and keeping you cool. You can also fold or ball this thing up and stick it in a pocket or pack and it'll snap back into shape when you need it. At about $20, it's a solid, versatile, summer hat that'll keep the sun off.

I bought this hat for roughly $20 and at the same time purchased one of the other Mission brand baseball cap style cooling hats so I have been able to compare both of these hats. This bucket hat isn't huge, and for my big head it is a little on the tighter side but still perfectly comfortable for me. Could be an issue for some though I imagine most people will be fine as I know my head is bigger than average and the fit doesn't bother me. As to the cooling powers of the hat, I mostly use it on hot days when I am lounging in the pool to shade my face and keep me cool as I work on my tan. I dunk it in the water then slap it on my head. The only part of this hat that is going to cool you is the top and the inner rim that goes around your head. So for as much water as this hat soaks up, it really doesn't do much but run off and provide shade like any other hat. It stays cool for what seems a short amount of time but it does help. If you are on the go, I would keep a spray bottle handy so you can keep misting the top and inside every hour or so and get a lot more mileage out of it. Overall, it is a good hat but I feel the ball cap style hat is better for day to day. That one soaks up your sweat better than this one and if you do start to overheat with it on, take it off and it'll cool you down again once you put it back on after a few minutes thanks to the sweat retention. Both benefit from keeping a spray bottle nearby, and I do consider that a must have if you are trying to get these things to cool you down, but if I could pick only one I would go with the cap but luckily the world doesn't work that way so I can use the cap at work and then this bucket hat around the house and pool. This cap is definitely a bigger help in rain as well thanks to the wider brim. While it isn't perfect it is still worth buying just remember to have realistic expectations. An hour of good cooling effect after a good soaking and maybe you can get two hours in shade under ideal conditions. Every person is different too, so that is just my experience. Regardless, it is a worthwhile purchase and I am happy with my Mission hats.

I loved this hat; but even though I have a fairy large head for a woman, it was way too big! Mine had a "s/m" tag/ sizing on it still too large.

I absolutely love this hat. Easily in my top 10 buys this year. Does exactly what it says it does. Run it thru cold water, ring it out just a little bit and keep cool. Where has this been all my life?

I really like this hat. You can where it two ways! Lightweight and comfortable. Perfect for blocking the sun!

Hubs is loving this hat - his hair is nearly shaved so this has been awesome to keep the sun off while staying cool. He wants a second one for when he bbq’d so he doesn’t get the one he wears regularly all smokey. Cooling works great - even in the night heat we get in ON, he says it cools well even in the 30+degC heat
