Is the chalk ledge/shelf removable?

Unfortunately not, in the current version of our chalkboard it is not possible to remove the ledge/shelf out of the frame. It is movable only within the chalk board frame.

Will this stick to a refrigerator? Or does it need to be hung on a wall?

The chalkboard is not magnetic from the back side. It needs to be hung on adjustable hanging hooks - they are on the upper side of the chalk board frame.

Can the board fit in a locker nicely and come out?

Well depends if your are just putting in the locker yes I think so not positive but Ido know you can't hang it up in a locker
