COMFAST CF-WR302S 300Mbps WiFi Repeater with Four Modes & Built-in Dual Realtek Chipset

Though the directions provided for this item are totally useless I found there are several reviewers who clearly state the proper way to set it up. Once that's done you'll find that this is the little repeater that "CAN"!! I live in a basement rancher (half of which is underground) and plugged this device into the furthest dead spot in our home then connected to it with an older laptop which has a less that perfect wifi range. I then began to walk with the laptop throughout our home while watching the reception bars and was totally blown away!! Even at the farthest point upstairs I was able to get a solid 3 bars. Then I took it outside and was literally able to get 2 bars at 30 feet from the house, with the repeater underground!!You just can't do better than that. Highly recommended!!

This thing DOES work, but it was close to getting returned. The instructions said to click the LOGIN button and no password was required. I did so many times, but never could get past the login screen. I did the factory reset several times... same result. I figured there MUST be a password, so I tried "admin", and it worked. The setup went flawlessly after that and the wifi reception on the opposite side of my house is 4 times better. I've only had the thing for a couple of hours, but upon first impressions, I'd recommend it.

As a laptop user from my den, my router is situated such that the wi-fi signal has to travel through two walls separated by a breezeway. My connection was intermittent at best before purchasing this device. Once I set it up and connected the cable included, it was like having a direct connection. I probably average from 50 - 60 mbps - ample speed for video playback and web surfing. If you lose the connection, just follow the troubleshooting directions in the included pamphlet to reset the unit. Highly recommend!

I read all the reviews , I went back and forth on different WiFi extenders ...the thing that worried me most was everyone saying the directions were hard to read ...I'm guessing they changed their directions because it literally took me about 7 minutes to hook it up (I'm not good with electronics but I knew my husband is so I still bought it but it was EASY ) . It only works on the repeater setting unless you send the seller a message and they send you more directions but all I needed was the repeater mode so it is PERFECT ! I can get WI-FI in my bedroom and on my back porch ! Lol

I ordered this WIFI repeater like everyone else to expand my coverage area. I had reservations about setup due to many frustrated reviews of this and most low cost repeaters. I admit I struggled for a couple hours and wished I had hair to pull out. As a typical borderline tech savvy consumer I can get over my head easily. The unit was picked up immediately by my iPhone ( instructions mention smart phone only for setup?). Step 2 says switch to Comfast wifi in settings and then go to web browser (Google) and write in IP # 192.168.10.1 and hit enter. I tried this numerous times and saw no result. Then I realized that since Comfast unit was still not working I had no wifi to search IP # with. I switched back to existing wifi and searched #. This led me to dozens of standard links with forums and links to solve IP issues. This was were my lack of knowledge and hair came to a head. This is not the answer. The answer that gave me new life and peace was actually simple in hindsight. You have to leave wifi setting in the Comfast mode and type in the IP # and hit enter and (ready ?) WAIT ! Yes it takes at least 30 seconds or more for system to pull up Comfast set up page. This is what instructions call for anyhow but I simply never waited long enough. After that revelation the set up was simple and fast. I currently have repeater mounted about 50 feet from main unit on my rear porch and now have a strong signal in my garage ( the whole point for purchase) and most of my large back yard. Will not connect with Frontier router. Also, directions are inscrutable and useless. I can only find a two year old Youtube video with any sort of instructions, and still it will not work. No tech support. The IP address doesn't even register anymore. Avoid this one.

I have three of these I use at my business & one at my home as wifi extenders. These are a great unit!!!! A bargain too. Easy set up even on a mobile device. Set could not be more simple. I had my first one up & running in well under 5 minutes. The range it extended to was excellent. In one area I barely had a detectable signal from the source wifi. Now I have over 8Mbps. Movie streaming is no problem now. **One tip some forget if you want a seem less wifi connection without switching you can set up your extender with the exact same name of your current wifi & same password from it too. It works much better this way for most applications. Best & lowest cost extender I've tried.

Works great in my place. I have had a hard time getting coverage in my house and this product works easily and very well. Very easy to set up as well. I am thinking about buying one for my office.
