delicious and heart healthy
love this product! if you have the time to cook these as mine takes over an hour and a half. next time in the pressure cooker for one hour. but the wheat berries are so tasty with that chewy texture most of us love. not to mention the health benefits from the fiber and proteins. i put these in my food bowl constructions and they are quite popular. i add some favorable sauce, like Japanese or Asian sauces and BBQ depending on the bowl theme. will definitely buy again.

Family owned selling a high quality product
Wanted to grow some wheat grass for my cats. Found this product was high quality, the right quantity, and the right price. I planted in potting soil and had sprouts in seven days. The cats like the tall green wheat leaves. This product is very clean and would be easy to grind for fresh baked bread. The bag is a single ingredient of wheat berries only no bugs or anything foreign. I have not cooked any of the berries yet, but a porridge would be fun and easy also.

Whole berries purchased for milling
Purchase for milling our own flower, but also use it for sprouting to add back to the breads or toasting them as a snack. Nice natural flavor, grinds, easily, sprouted easily. Great quality. Great value

My Favorite Brand for Home-Milling
I love Palouse grains for their quality, freshness, and overall flavor. I grind my own whole wheat flour, and these hard red winter wheat berries are perfect. When milled, they look as they should -- like typical brown whole wheat flour. ("Red" refers to the kind of wheat, not the actual color, even though the brown has red undertones.) As long as the hulls aren't cracked, these wheat berries will last for years. In addition to being milled for flour, these can be cooked as wheat berries and used in a variety of dishes that call for them. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Here's my easy plan for cat munch grass
Well, my local garden and feed store was selling this for $2 an ounce for pet grass seed. So, I researched this company, and bought this. A giant bag, 5 lbs will give me a couple of years of cat grass for about 10.00. I put the first batch in a pot 7 days ago and it's 4 inches tall and cats are munching. It's also used, I think for wheat grass drink and ornamental indoor pots. Here's my easy plan for cat munch grass: Have two pots to rotate, about 12 inch with heavy soil or potting soil. Spread 1/4 cup wheat seed on the soil and just lightly stir it in with a fork. This will germinate in a few days. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. When growing, this requires more water than normal plants due to rapid growth. No fertilizer is needed or insecticides. In about 8 week, that pot full will grow up and the grass begin to flop over.....so start another pot about then. In two more weeks, take pot one: the wheat roots will have filled the whole pot tightly, so you can pull out the entire grass, soil and root stuff, intack, and then just flop it over into the pot, putting the old grass tops on the bottom and soil on top. Run, a fork over the soil and roots there, read wheat seed. Keep up this rotation. No more pots, no more soil. I see on the label is a recipe for Wheat Mush. Haven't tried it but will. The wheat came in a sharp looking burlap bag, with heavy plastic liner. I put the whole thing in a one gallon zip. I've since recommended this to others. Now, explain to me, 5lbs for $10, why you're being charged in stores such high prices for "cat grass" plants or seed when it's just wheat?? Palouse sells other seed for use, and I think cats eat also Barley. But this wheat has sweet shoots and soft leaves.

Sprouting success
I was using this to grow food for my critters and it is wonderful. Once I knew what I was doing, I have healthy trays of wheatgrass. I donโt use soil and it makes it easy to remove from the trays peeling off like sod with no mess. For those who are hoping to start spouts I will share my process. I use two wide mouth canning jars with screens. I purchased the carts with wheels used in narrow spaces with holes already in the bottom of the trays. and the seeds. All items I purchased on Amazon. I use the pint size jars and 1 jar of sprouts fills 1 1/2 of the narrow trays or 1 standard tray. Fill jar 1/4 full of seeds and place screen on jar. Fill jar with water rinse seeds and drain, repeat Fill jar with water so the water is twice as much as seeds keep in dark place for 12 hours and drain I tilt jars upside down so air can get into jar and all water can drain. Every 12 hours rinse seeds and drain. After two days the jar should have sprouts around 1/2 to 1โ long. Remove seeds from jar and place on trays forming a single layer in the trays. Water the seeds and stack trays do not use the rods included with the trays at this time. Cover for 24 hours. The seeds should have straightened out looking like a little carpet. Place rods in holes and stack trays. Water plants every 12 hours until they have grown to desired height. Place in sun day before using to make grass greener. I put mine on the windowsill. To remove grass just grab and pull gently in one direction. I already have sprouts ready to go on tray as the one has been removed. Happy sprouting
