Beatuiful!
I love this Homespun yarn! It's so soft and is beautiful, especially in a simple pattern with a small stitch. I'm using Pearl to make a baby blanket for someone who likes neutrals and this is perfect, especially for a girl. The yarn has a subtle luminescence like a pearl that's just gorgeous when the light hits it. That said, I would use this as an external blanket, i.e., not as a receiving blanket or a crib blanket (unless baby is wearing pajamas) but more like a stroller/car blanket, where the blanket wouldn't touch baby's skin directly. It's soft but still a little rough for a baby. Which is why I'm also making an afghan for myself, lol. The variety/selection of colors is great as well. And I love the way the variegated colors fade into one another, the change is gradual and looks beautiful. I have several colors selected that I plan to purchase for future projects. There are a couple of things to be aware of: 1) That while this yarn doesn't shed, some colors do pile (e.g., 236 - Celestial Stripes). While it can enhance the beauty of the yarn/project (looks more heathery which is nice for capes, scarfs, etc.), the brilliance/intensity of the colors may become muted especially if the stitch is large/loose. 2) The texture of the yarn is bulky which requires additional control especially depending on the stitch so some don't recommend this yarn for beginners. I don't think it matters, just make sure you have a K hook or larger depending on how tight/loose your stitch is and test out a swatch of the stitch you're planning to use to make sure it will work. It literally took 6 attempts with the Celestial color before I found a pattern that didn't cause the yarn to lose it's sheen and brillance. It's an absolutely beautiful blend of teal, turquoise, blue, purple, dark pink, and a light yellow/green and smaller stitches best maintain both otherwise the texture will mellow and become more heathery as you work with it. Still beautiful, just a different look to be aware of if you use it. Interestingly, I didn't experience this with the Pearl color so it differs from color to color. Homespun has become one of my go to yarns when I'm seeking a bulky yarn. I highly recommend it.

Lovely Green Shades
I was looking for a nice color yarn for my crochet creeper and this was perfect! Good shade range of greens and I like the wavy texture too. The 3 pack is just right for the amount I needed. Yarn stays neat without over working it during crocheting, but frays when I use it to stitch over and over during the end of my project.

Better than expected
I was surprised with this yarn. I expected it to be difficult to work with, but it is not. It is acrylic, and has that plasticky feeling of cheap yarn. But it is soft. The best thing about it is the color distribution and how they blend in the knitted object. It is really beautiful. I'm making a shawl that I expect to be able to wear with almost anything, so I picked a very neutral color way. I've got about 15 inches done already and am so pleased. I will use this yarn again. An added note 3 years later: I have used the shawl I made with this for three winters. I still love it. It is warm and still attractive. In fact, I've come back today to order another color way to make up another project. It has pilled some, but because of the colors all mixed close together, the pills don't show unless you go looking for them. Most of my knit and crochet projects I use good wool. But for something that is going to get almost daily use and need cleaning a couple times a season, this is a work-horse yarn. Not bad performance for such a cheap yarn.

Looks expensive: isn't
I love this yarn and have made tops and cowls with it. It looks much more expensive than it is. Excellent quality. Highly recommended.

Love this yarn!
Second time I have done a knitting project with Lion Brand Homespun yarn. Love the soft feel and the gradations of colour. The yarn can be a little tricky to use as it is twisted and has a "bumpiness" to it, but worth the effort, in my opinion! Works up beautifully into an afghan. I used Lion Brand pattern 60684 "Catch the Wave".
