Good product...some installation tips here...
I really like this gate brace. Robust and easy to install, this product solved my sagging gate problem. A couple things here: 1. My first suggestion to both the manufacturer and the installer would be to advise/use/include stainless steel or other corrosion resistant screws for all hardware that penetrates the wood on the gate. (It cost only about $5 to buy at local lumber yard). It’s a well known fact that after a few months standards zinc plated hardware will corrode badly when engaged in cedar or treated wood. I substituted stainless steel lag screws for all that penetrated the wood on the gate. For all the other associated hardware, that doesn’t penetrate the wood, the zinc plated stuff that comes with it is fine. 2. As far as value for the money, if one is handy and so inclined, you could probably build this unit for under $20. But there is value in having it show up in a “kit” form and just installing it, with no chasing down parts and designing/building the thing. 3. Shipping was a bit slow. I’m guessing because it’s a bit bulky and perhaps a bit out of the ordinary to package for shipping, but allowing enough time, (about a week), is one answer here if one knows about it ahead of time. 4. This company offers a couple versions of this unit. I got the one that is adjustable. That’s what I’d suggest for most situations, as it is nice to have that option in case the actual installation turns out to be different than originally thought. (For example if one decides to attach to a different gate component than originally thought). 5. Installation would be easier and faster if the bolt holes where the 2 square tubes telescope together were pre-drilled. There could be a series of holes ~1” apart in the inner tube that would line up with the holes in the outer tube. Doing so would still allow for ample final adjustment on the threaded end. All in all a good product that does exactly what the manufacturer states. I’d purchase it again.

Exceeded my expectation
I needed to widen my gate so I could get my lawn tractor through it with the grass catcher installed. Once I did this I knew I would have a sagging issue with gate. Which as a DIY person I’ve never had to deal with. I did some research and this seemed like the best anti-sag solution and it would work with my PVC gate. Should have taken a before video but before when I’d open the gate it would drop about 1/4-1/2” from where it was positioned in the lock and of course closing I had to lift it up back into the lock. I bought the 8’ True Latch, installed it in probably 15 minutes (I watched the install videos and read the instructions before my purchase so I was familiar with the install) made sure the screws would connect with the aluminum supports inside the gate and bolted securely in at both ends then added the self tappers to join the two bars. Using the top bolt made what I would call a minor adjustment and the gate swings and latches with no issues. See video. Well designed, feels worth the money I paid, installation was very easy, looks great, even the paint feels sturdy. :)

Really happy with the result!
These solved my issues with sagging gates at my driveway. I had a new gate installed about 6 months ago and the installer told me to put some wheels on the bottom to support the weight and they wouldn't sag. Not only did they sag but they started to lean at the same time. I looked at a few options that might have been a little cheaper but I figured this American made, solid metal option would be the best and I'm glad I did. I raised the gates at the center at least 2" and now the wheels I installed first don't even touch the ground! They've been on about a week and I'm quite pleased. The install wasn't bad but you definitely need a drill, some drill bits and a socket wrench (10mm) to get the job done. The end result was a solid, level gate that doesn't sag and drag like it did even with wheels installed. Instructions were easy to follow.

High quality an affordable. The best I've used in the past 40 years!
First of all, this brace is high quality and sturdy; it is also well designed, light weight, and made with high-quality materials. In short, this gate brace is the bomb; our gate operates properly for the first time since a contractor installed two years ago. It fits on our gat perfectly, thanks to the way they designed it. The adjustments worked so well; I used my cordless drill and the gate zipped into position, but you can accomplish adjustments just as easily with a 3/4" wrench, an adjustable wren, or pliers. They offer great customer support and were very responsive to my emails. And, if you are a visual person there are good tutorials on YouTube. Bottom line, this is an excellent product! It came well packaged and the enclosed instructions were good. On top of that the installation was very easy. In my opinion this is the best brace product for wooden gates.

Worked to fix our sagging gate
We had a large two-door swinging gate that was sagging and dragging it's boards on the ground. We bought this and were able to repair the gates in one day. This product works as advertised. As other reviewers have mentioned, you MUST get a drill bit that can hold the 3/8 socket! The two bars are held together by two self-drilling metal screws. It was impossible to get them to do anything by hand. I ended up purchasing a the drill bit that holds the socket from my socket wrench kit. Once I had that, it was super easy to get the bars together, install the gate brace, and hoist my sagging gate! I used the center holder which also helped reduce the warp in the gate as well. Now our gate is super stable and working again.

Forget the headaches and get the True Latch Brace !
Although it's not me, for the tried-and-true DIYer, they will barely need the instrcutions in order to install this gate brace. If I was more mechanical I would have been able to have this brace attached to our gate in 15 minutes; however, being that I'm just average I think it was more like 45 minutes. This brace comes with very high quality lag screws, two metal rods (at least in the case of the 6' brace), and everything (except the tools) you need to start using it within an hour. I would tell new buyers to definitely follow the advice in the instructions of pre-lifting the gate (with a shovel and/or lever) before completing the installation of the brace. This will provide the best operation of this brace (and probably reduce the number of later adjustments you might ever have to do). For quickest install, it's best to have an impact driver (and its 3/8" screw bit), a drill (with metal bit), and an adjustable wrench. I think the instructions call for use of a hammer, but with the above, there's no need for one. (By the by, if you don't have an impact driver, you can get by with a ratchet set, but it will take a bit longer, instead of just seconds to mount your lag screws.) > Some recommendations : (1) Prior you fully fastening the main (top-part) brace to the gate, make sure that you will have space to, later, slide the extension section into the bottom of the main brace : if you don't check this first, then you may have to remove the top-part of the brace in order to install the extension piece into it (instead : just mount the top rod with one screw first, then you can swivel it about while inserting the extension into the bottom of the top rod). (2) I found it helpful to tape measure the exact diagonal along which I was going to install the brace; I then penciled in, on the gate, the spots where I'd drill to make it easy when it was time to finally put the lag screws in. (3) definitely consider the 'shovel test' mentioned in the instructions. If you don't, and your gate was already severely lagging, it WILL require many more turns of the adjustment screw in order to bring the bottom of the gate to a reasonable level, and it's really best to align the gate well first, with a shovel or lever, so that the brace functions the way it was designed to work) If you don't do this first, there may be undesirable twisting that you'll, later, be subjecting the gate to that you don't really want to have. I also recommend, although it's optional, to install the provided center bracket. It ensures that the installation is as secure as possible and nicely stiffens up the brace (especially good thing for folks like us that live in hurricane country). These are easy steps, and well worth the few extra minutes. I would definitely buy this product again !

Remove any existing crossbracing
Great product. Works like a charm. As easy to install as everybody says. The manufacturer suggest and I concur that you should remove any existing cross bracing on the gate. I did it the hard way by ignoring that advice and then finding that the gate brace ended up twisting my gate as much as raising it. I remove the gate brace, removed the existing cross brace, reinstalled the gate brace, turned the nut and voilà, it worked as advertised. Also, there are imitation products on Amazon as always. I thought about those for a second, and decided that it was worthwhile to go with the real thing. I wasn’t disappointed.

Easy to install and does the trick
This device instantly corrected my sagging gate door. It's easy to install too - just two lag bolts on each end and two self-tapping bolts to secure the telescoping pieces in the middle. I didn't even need to turn the adjustment bolt because I had the gate propped up on supports when I fastened the telescoping pieces, so it was already the correct length. When I removed the supports, the gate didn't sag at all.

Easy to Install
Support Bracket was easy to install & adjust. I found out it won’t do much for my application after the fact. My gate is heavy enough that it’s moving the 6x6 post. I have to get that supported better before I’ll know how well the bracket actually works. But it seems very well made.
