Definitely not as soft as the BB or RT sponges.First impression just squeezing the sponge in the plastic package each is individually packaged in was that these would definitely be harder than the BB/RT.Disappointed, I still gave the sponges a chance and wet one: it expanded quite nicely, just as much as a BB/RT would. I want to say the material IS different from the BB/RT, but I do find they work the same; this one is the slightest bit less porous.Unfortunately they are somewhat unpleasant to bounce against the face, but it's nothing I can't tolerate especially as I'm too lazy to return.For the value, they are not bad at all and I will continue to purchase them again unless I want to go back to the RT shape, which is what I prefer. I find that foundation still goes on as flawlessly as ever; the only thing is is that, again, they're not as comfortable as the BB/RT.If this is your first sponge to try, I really don't think you'd think notice anything bad.

Why buy more expensive sponges when you can have all these bad boys at a great price! I gotta be honest, I haven't used all of them because I'm just a girl trying to learn more about application-- mostly by watching youtube videos (can I get an Amen!!) but even my daily normal easy makeup routine has found a place for these applicators. Try it out, I think you'll like it. If not, you can always paint with them or find some other type of use. It's pretty much a win/win.

Beauty blender expands when wet. Not to soft and definitely not hard. Texture is perfect. Trying a natural look with the makeup. Blended makeup wonderfully. I gave 4/5 stars because the blender stain easily and I have not been able to remove the discoloration in spite of cleaning the blenders immediately after use.

These are pretty great, I have to admit. They are BIG, when you get them wet. So keep that in mind. But I love the different shapes. It gives you a really versatile lot to choose from when doing makeup.

These are OK. Not as soft as I thought it would be. More of a rubbery feel. Also absorbs a lot of the makeup you want to apply to your face. Need to wet it before use and then it gets too large and cumbersome.

These sponges are not as soft as the original beauty blender, but do soften up after a couple of washes. I've used them for a few months now, and they're still in good shape.

Nice sizes and great price. Wish it wasn't so easy to rip but that may just be me cleaning them too hard. I will be purchasing these items again in the future.

I like these, they are hard to clean. I use once and wash with dish soap. They are beginning ot show signs of wear after about 10 uses each. (cracking/splitting etc).
