I was very nervous to use this for the first time. I watched several videos on youtube and got the general gist of how to use it so I was pretty sure that it would suit my needs. I got my order very quickly. The packaging was secure tho the outside box was fairly trashed and even open on one side. Nothing was damaged and the original packaging seemed to be in perfect condition. Few things. It is not as loud as people on the web say. It is NOT like using a lawnmower on your hair. If anything it cuts very little. Almost too little, but it did exactly what I wanted it to do which was to get rid of all the scraggily hair bits. I still have my layers and my hair is softer and smoother. I wish it evened out the ends more, but that is not what this product does. It was fairly pricey, but not all that unexpected for a hair tool. It was easy to use and with my thin hair it took about 30 mins to do all of it. The sections have to be fairly thin but not crazy tiny and it will pull and break hair if you get impatient and grab more hair than fits. I also wish the actual hair cutting plate was bigger for more sections but I understand that you are actually cutting your hair, so less it is. I think overall this will work if you go to the hairdressers and get a proper hair cut then use this in the interim. I'm happy I bought it and will continue to use it.

UPDATE 5/8/2020: machine is still working as described, and this has come in incredibly handy with the shelter-in-place!! Nice to be able to get a trim when everything is closed. A great investment!!Original Review 1/2020: I was reluctant to give this a shot, but am super glad I did! Works as advertised, as long as 1) your hair is straightened and 2) you make sure you are using the correct direction with the brush. I followed the directions that were included, and this device did, in fact, cut off exactly an 8th of an inch of my hair, but ONLY the broken, split ends. It left the rest alone. I am trying to grow my hair out, and this tool will help me from cutting off the healthy ends. (My hair is fine and wavy/curly)

I was super excited to see this arrive. Upon opening the package I saw hair. Not only was there hair in the package, the split ever pro has been used. I tried it on a practice head and it was subpar. Maybe the razor was dull but I'm extremely disappointed in the company for sending me a used product after I've didn't over $200 and I'm also disappointed in the performance of the split ender pro. I have returned the product!

The media could not be loaded. To start I am not being paid for this. This is my honest opinion. If you have thick hair this review may be different. I have thin, incredibly fine, long hair. I started using this a few years ago or so and it works well for my hair. It’s well made I haven’t had any mechanical issues so far. Charges easily and easy to clean. The only thing I don’t love is the clamp isn’t as tight so I gotta kind of hold it down to get my super fine hair but thick hair you most likely won’t have any issues. Easy to use and overall I really like it and the quality of my hair has significantly improved by probably 2 inches. It’s a lot of money up front which made me nervous but super glad I bought it. Also, you may not see results at first, the key is to use this probably 1-2 x a month to really see them. If your hair is really damaged I’d use it every week at first until you start to see the different in a couple months.

I have coarse hair and normally get my hair trimmed every 6 - 8 weeks to help with the damaged ends. I thought this product would finally allow me to trim off just the ends at home and thus allow me to grow out my hair.Pros: nice packaging. Clear instructions.Cons: I have 2 main issues with this. First, it actually created some split ends with some passes (the kind that look brushy and spiky at the end). I don't know if that was user error because it only happened like 5 times out of the dozens of times I ran it over my hair. Second, the little hairs escape from the holder and get all over the place.Overall, it did more good than harm, and I will try to keep using it.

The Split Ender does work however it’s not the easiest to use. If you don’t lock it properly and choose the right direction it doesn’t work. It’s not as intuitive as it would seem.I also think it’s way too overpriced for the level of service it’s providing.

At first I didn't understand some of the instructions, and I found myself getting annoyed because I was anxious to get started and use it. However, it didn't take me long to catch on. I love it. And I notice my hair looks healthier. I can't wait for my hair to grow longer to. Thanks so much for this much needed Device. ❤️
