Can't Really Rate this Movie
I can't rate this movie being that the DVD is for Region 2 viewing only. I had to return the movie and get a refund. I'm pretty sure I would've enjoyed the movie had the movie been sellable in the USA region. Oh well, I'll just read the book.

Not so good as "The other side of midnight"
Despite the great performance of Omar Sharif and Jane Seymour, nothing compare to "The other side of midnight", including direction and sound track.

DMVMT
This project is Region 2 which means it wouldn't play on my machine. In other words I didn't get a chance to watch it. However, I have seen it before and know the story.

Memories of Midnight TV mini series
This is an enjoyable adaptation of the Sidney Sheldon novel, the first part particularly so I think, where the central character Catherine is trying to regain her memory of recent events after being found on a beach suffering from amnaesia. As happens from time to time though, stories sometimes get slightly lost in translation from book to film and unfortunately this applies here to a certain extent and let the end result down just a little bit. While the main character Catherine (Jane Seymour) was very well portrayed, much more, for example, could have been made of the characters of Larry, her philandering husband (Peter Cetera) and Costa, the shipping magnate and businessman (Omar Sharif). As certain aspects of their involvement in the plot were either glossed over or missed out altogether you didn't see their full impact on procceedings and, as such, you never really quite got right into the guts of the story. Yes, you saw a glimpse of what these men were like but you certainly didn't see them in their true colours.! If they had been made more true to the book the extra intrigue and drama would have made it all the more entertaining.Certainly extremely watchable. I would probably suggest, though, seeing the film first and reading the book after rather than vice versa.
