Review: Replacement DVD recorder for identical model - I owned one of this Toshiba DVD recorder for 14 years, and it served as a daily workhorse until it showed signs of having problems. When it had problems recognizing and loading discs, that's when I decided to find a replacement. Ironically, I found the exact same model and bought it. This player is the exact same model that I had before, the Toshiba DR410, and as expected, it behaves the same as my previous version in functionality. Only difference is that a newer remote control with more buttons was included. My old remote still works. Older discs that I recorded on my old player are recognized on my new player, so I can now finalize them. Only downside of player is that S-video is the highest quality video input, that is common for all DVD recorders. It does have HDMI output to the TV. For those looking for DVD recorders, this one is a reliable workhorse that I hope I can get 14 years of service like I did with my first one.
