Gift recipient will gush with thanks!!
It's a beautiful deep blue container & I believe just for that alone it's worth the money. One puzzlement is the lid. It was very difficult to remove. Inside is not rubber or some plastic but a waxy like coating on on woven looking brown paper. This paper seems glued to the lid. I believe that is their idea of making it's air tight. (And it is) I bought it to store my powder Japanese matcha but I can't trust this container to do so. I'll keep it for decoration. Just not sure of that paper on the lid and if it's supposed to be there or removed.2-7-'21 I've been using this tea caddy for tea leaves and with two one by one inch dessicants the tea is still fresh after a month. I love the different cultivars (Ceremonial Grade means only what the advertiser wants you to believe so you will buy the more expensive matcha. There is no such name in Japan or in this house!!! If you must have a equivalent then you want to buy a "SINGLE CULTIVAR" (THAT IS THE BEST!!!!). Amazon offers THE Pinnacle of Japanese tea. You also get fast delivery and unprecedented customer service!!!!!!!! My personal favorites are the two SINGLE CULTIVAR'S BEST OF THOSE IS "YABUKITA MATCHA". When I like something a little different I buy the " KYOTO UJI MATCHA ". When it comes to tea leaves, well I have morr to try. Many of my choices are suggestions from the Customer service. They offer sales and discounts on the Ocha web site. Did you know OCHA is TEA in Japanese. Domo arigato. ( Thank you). " OHIO" means Good Morning. Now sit back and enjoy the umami (fantastic, not actually the definition of the word) and the calming feeling of relaxation, a perfect way to start your daily meditations. Tastes like nature just after a spring rain.MMMMMM. try it you'll like it.

Teeny tiny pretty
Sometimes it's hard to judge the size of things without seeing in person. It is very small but very well made. Looks great on my tea/coffee shelf. I use it to hold ground spices I add to my coffee/tea. Happy. Recommend for small quantities of very finely ground tea/spices.

It’s lovely!
It matches my others even though they are all different. They are clustered together and they are gorgeous! Delivery was swift and efficient. It was packaged well so it was delivered unbroke!

Beautiful and roomy, difficult to open
Visually a lot going on, designs, lettering, and a crackly finish which upon closer examination appears to have been created with a decal, but still very nice. The lid is snug, perhaps a little bit too much as the only way to open it is by pulling in the tassel; nonetheless the tassel appears to be quite sturdy. Functional and decorative, with emphasis on the decorative. I wouldn’t use this for tea I’m drinking often, simply because of the care required to open it.

Adorable
Looked so much nicer than I thought it would when I opened the box. It is small but I love it. It matches my decor and accent wall perfectly.

Beautiful quality in an accent piece
The lovely quality of this tea canister makes me want to order a much larger version. Shiny white porcelain with delicate vibrant blue flowers cascading across it, making it the perfect piece. Definately a deminutive treasure

Iffy seal under the lid
This is a really cute tea caddy. the print on it is nice, sharp and applied evenly. The embossed lid is a really nice detail. What is downing my opinion is the cheesy/flimsy inner seal. It is a piece of Mylar over a funfoam-like material and it's not glued on well. My caddy arrived a little dirty and I washed it (I'd wash it before use, anyway) and now I'm concerned about mold or mildew growing between the Mylar and foam if it doesn't dry properly. I may end up removing it.update: What I thought was foam pad was actually a strip of double stick foam tape wrapped around the porcelain lip of the lid. The lid is hollow, making ideal for trapping moisture. I ended up removing the tape and Mylar. It wasn't air tight to begin with, but it will now make a cute temporary rather than more permanent storage for tea leaves.
