I was comparing prices of different types of cutting mats because I was due to replace the one I had. This self healing sewing mat had the best price and I knew with in the next few months I was going to purchase one anyway so I figured I would try this one out. It is a good size. Doesn't take up much room on my work table. I like that it has measurements on both sides. I build a lot of miniatures, make custom clothing for dolls, and do I good bit of beadwork and the measurements have come in handy being right in front of me instead of stopping what I am doing and looking for a ruler. I have been using it with an exacto knife and I have not left any marks on my work table. The reason for that is that mat is thick enough that even if I press hard while cutting the tip of the blade still does not go through the mat completely.
