Lichamp HVAC R410A Manifold Gauge Set AC R134A, Freon R22 R32 410A 134A Diagnostic Manifold Gauge with Hose Kit Air Conditioner Refrigerant Recharge Kit

I purchased this kit to replace a 40 year old set of gauges I had. This is a nice quality looking kit. I can't attest to the accuracy since I have no way of calibrating the gauges. The gauge housing seems very sturdy and nicely machined. I like the five foot hoses as they make it easy to hang from the latch with the hood up and still reach the connections. I also like the plastic wing nuts that slip over the hose fittings and makes it easier to snug them down. The adapter set is complete. The only negative is the gauges are a bit small to read. These are standard sized gauges so I can't complain too much about that. My older eyes would appreciate slightly large dials for readability. It gets the job done at a reasonable price. I paid much more for a cheaper set of gauges 40 years ago. I do recommend these gauges.

The quality and function are good. But please note the range/scale of the low pressure gauge causes the increments of the markings to be 5 PSI. This makes it difficult to read the actual pressure any closer than that. In the case of my R-438A AC unit, I was looking to charge to about 75 PSI. But the needle is 5PSI wide on this scale. While I kept this unit, I subsequently purchased one with a low pressure dial that had 200 PSI limit and thus was far easier to read for the pressures I was working with.

The gauges work well and the hoses are decent quality and seal better just finger tight than many other brands out there. They can come loose easily tho so check they are always snug. Everything is decent quality and valves shut completely. The can tap I'm not a fan of and have my own. The small fitting and adapter selection is nice and you will probably be able to use these gauges on most setups but I have found the need for other adapters I already had and not included in the kit. Also the case is a pain to coil the hoses back in it and close. Still worth the cost versus other brands which I have purchased in the past.

Do NOT use Teflon tape!! These work great but lack instructions and one is that if you have a flared male end going into a female with s gasket you will mess up your seal with Teflon tape. Look it up if you don’t believe me. Teflon tape wasn’t made to handle the high psi and super cold liquid Freon, it’ll blow and leak every time. I think most of these reviews complaining of leaking used the tape or wrong side of the hose. Pay attention you can get badly hurt! Otherwise this is a great set and and saved me gobs (I have r22) and found out I was very low. The cost of these gauges are less than a service call

My air was acting up on my car that was over 10 years old and I was getting tired of taking it to the dealer. The last time I took i in the mechanic said it costs $50.00 just to hook up the gauges + parts and labor. I used to work on cars in the 70s, 80s and 90s so I was familiar on how a car AC system works and how to use the gauges. I was able to fix my car and now the air blows at 42 degrees even being 13 years old. The kit comes with everything you need to test and recharge (top off) your system. I have also topped off my family and friends cars and I normally get a 6 pack as a thank you so for me it was a great investment. The gauge set was delivered on-time, complete and as described by the seller. This is a comprehensive kit with high and low pressure gauges, a manifold with valves and hoses to attach high/low/vacuum/charge sources, a detailed instruction manual and a set of accessories for all types of DIY use I can anticipate; all contained in a rugged plastic storage case. I purchased the set about a year ago when troubleshooting a refrigerant leak in a R-410A home A/C system. More recently, I have used the gauges and accessories for maintenance on HFC 134a vehicle A/C units. I am satisfied with the completeness and functionality of the Lichamp gauge kit.

Good set of gauges for refrigeration works, but the seals inside the hose adapters have dislodged within a month of use.
