Han WagHanwag Alverstone II GTX Boots-Asphalt/Gray-10.5

Over the years, I’ve had many trekking boots. Never did I see such high quality boots. They thought of everything. There are products that you wonder if the designer has ever used such a product. But w/ these boots - I’m sure that the designer has a lot of experience in hiking.The only caveat is the somewhat hard sole. But it’s probably me as I add insoles to most of my shoes, so I added insoles here as well. It is sturdy, fits well w/ it’s brilliant lace-lock system, holds the foot perfectly, and works well in water and mud. I hiked for 10 hours of constant rain, in a trail with many small or not so small puddles - and my socks remained totally dry. The Vibram sole itself holds great on slippery surfaces. While it is the perfect shoe for hiking, I also tried it in urban hikes, and It worked very well.

Buy this boot at any boot store and it will be backed by a warranty better than 30 days with a sole failure. Sole has a piece falling off after a few months. $370 for that kinda burns a bit. Not a good item for purchase from here.

I don't understand why would a trecking boot would offer a,narrow toe box fit.The horror of pain and damage to your feet in a narrow toe box boot after hiking 6miles with a heavy pack it must be something to never forget.I own another model of Hanwag boots and the toe bow is pretty roomy. I am size 11 and this brand fits me well in 11.5.The boot is very light and well constructed but I just can't take the chance.Return already started.I might consider a pair in wide if they even offer it.

Great quality, sturdy and good technical support for hiking, the shoes are good but runs too small.

These are some of the more comfortable boots that I have had. I found they run about 1/2 size small. I wear an 11 in most boots and an 11.5 fits perfect.

This is my second pair of Hanwags. If you wear a 10 or 10.5 get the 11.
