Psychic Roots: Serendipity and Intuition in Genealogy

Not only was this a fantastic deal from the seller, but the book is an incredible collection of stories from the pioneers of genealogy ... these are pre-dna, pre-ancestry.com tales from professionals who have dug deeply into historical files for every bit of family history for themselves and their clients. Since I am only an amateur armchair researcher how I admire and respect the sweat and tears that these saints had to endure but doing it with such enthusiasm and gusto! I am almost finished reading and will be purchasing Mr. Jones second book without question!!

I have the good fortune to own both of Henry Z. Jones' Psychic Roots books. I ordered Serendipity..... when I discovered that someone apparently borrowed it from me and never returned it. I haven't yet started re-reading it, but am looking forward to that Joy! I urge anyone--especially anyone involved in genealogy--to get BOTH of Mr. Jones' Psychic Roots books. You'll be glad you did!

I bought this book on a whim, as a genealogist. Every story reminded me of one of my own. It has started me on my own psychic search, and I have been given many messages that I have subsequently proven. Keep an open mind. I give this book as gifts, frequently.

Some interesting accounts, from a number of people, about the role of serendipity in genealogy research. Marred by a completely unnecessary and irrelevant side trip into "Emperor Constantine changed the Bible fantasy land."

I would have never gotten so far in my tree without the help of the ancestors. It is nice to know others are having similar experiences. Thanks Hank for a splendid read.Susan Marston

Nice copy of a good, however dated, book. It's even autographed.

I sometimes think some of our ancestors want to be found, and here's proof! Henry has some very interesting stories from a number of genealogists, most professionals.

Reading this book gave me a chance to think about my own research finds and how they came about. It was a fun read not a heavy duty research book. Thanks!

Maybe of interest to some. After a while the stories became a little repetitive or similar that I lost interest.
