Cute but WAY too expensive and not complicated enough
My daughter and I are a fan of the Poppin' Kitchen Japanese DIY snacks so we were really excited to find these at Target. I paid $9.99 for this kit. This is much easier than the Poppin' Kitchen DIY snacks, and you get more food (there's enough powder to do it twice) - but for us it is about the experience more than the food. The Poppin' Kitchen kits took us about an hour to do. This was about 20 minutes (with lots of futzing with that box!). The "fries" were kind of crumbly and tasted like instant mashed potatoes. The "ketchup" tastes like tomato sauce and boullion with a lot of sugar. The "cheese" tastes like the sauce you get with Velveeta macaroni and cheese and was probably the tastiest part of the project. It's good for a giggle - and many were had - but the price is WAY too high for what you get. I told my daughter she could keep the rest to do it with a friend and she immediately shook her head "no" before I could finish the question.

The fries were terrible so i'm pretty sure they taste the same like this.

Two Stars
The fries were good. The ketchup was horrible and smelled strong. The cheese was decent.
