Essentials 1/4" Thin (6mm) Yoga & Pilates, Fitness & Exercise Mat with Easy-Cinch Carrier Strap Cusion Support For Fitness and Gym Workouts

This Gaiam Essentials mat is a straightforward 1/4-inch (6mm) PVC yoga mat with a textured, sticky surface and a simple cinch strap. That’s the whole product, and it does the job well.6mm is the right middle ground. It’s thicker than a thin travel mat, so knees, wrists, and hips get some cushion on hard floors, but it’s still stable enough that you don’t sink or wobble in standing poses. The texture gives decent grip for yoga, Pilates, stretching, and floor workouts. It isn’t a high-end rubber mat for dripping-wet hot yoga, but for home practice and gym use it stays put.Size is a standard 72 x 24 inches (some Gaiam Essentials versions run closer to 68 inches long), and it weighs about 3.5 pounds. Easy to roll. The included strap is a real plus — roll the mat, cinch it, and carry it over a shoulder without buying a separate bag.A couple of practical notes:• New PVC mats smell. Unroll it and air it out for 2–3 days before first use.• Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Don’t leave it in the sun or it can get brittle.• If you want thick gym-mat padding, this isn’t that. If you want a light, grippy daily mat, it is.Good value, no-frills Gaiam mat I’d buy again for home or class

Truly luxurious yoga mat at an affordable price. It feels very comfortable; the length and width are perfect for me.

This is a REAL Yoga mat meaning it’s thin and meant for balancing. Most true yoga mats are usually 1/8 -1/4”. This is 1/4” and is thin. It’s not meant for those who need support for knees, back, or hips and would need something with more cushion against the hard yoga floors. However many yoga studios do have blankets some use for cushioning, I use one for my head.

Overall, it’s a good mat and is exactly the color I wanted. It can be a little slippery at times (e.g. hands sliding slightly during downward dog). It’s exactly the thickness I was looking for and there isn’t really a strong smell.

The overall size and thickness is just right. It has good grip support for the hands and feet. I would buy again.

This yoga mat is amazing! Finally something long enough to comfortably fit my 5'9.5" frame. Even though it is on the thinner side, it provides great support for my knees and joints. The textured circular pattern on the foam is comfortable and doesn't leave any marks on your skin. Plus, it rolls up easily and includes a great carrying strap for travel!

YES!!!! Great quality and just what I was looking for at a great price! Soft and durable. Simple design. Comes with a little band to hold it together, so it's very easy to store or bring with you! I've only used it on carpet so far, but I've had no problems of it moving or being unstable! Seems like a good amount of padding too.

Definitely needs to be aired out for at least 24h after first unpacking & unrolling, as the fresh chemical smell is STRONG - will need to leave in a well ventilated room or outside! It's a good size, exactly as stated, which is perfect for my frame without feeling too big or small. It's not super bulky, but it's still thick enough to protect me from the hardwood floor I stretch on. Love the color! Carry strap is pretty cheap, it's just a fabric strap with a slider - if it's the difference between this item and a different one, honestly making your own strap could be better. But it feels nice and relaxing and I'm not worried about it rolling away! Love the mat, would get again if I needed a spare.

Buen producto.. tenía mi duda del grosor pero es adecuado para mis ejercicios

Buen grosor, excelentes producto de la marca, no resbala.

This GAIA Yoga mat has a great ‘grippy’ surface that does not become slippery. I started with a thicker foam mat and those thick ones are potentially a bit dangerous as they are slippery when doing Yoga moves. You could slip and hurt yourself with those cheaper thick foam ones.Gaia thin ones are one of the BEST you can get. You can use a cheaper one under it if you are outside on uneven ground. Always have the Gaia next to your skin.

This mat is ideal for everyday use. The thickness is perfect for those whose knees and hands get sore when on the floor. It is also longer than the average length of a yoga mat.
