You spend all day - maybe all week - waiting for the moment you get to hit your favorite trail. It's time to finally make that first emphatic pedal by hopping on the Schwinn Sidewinder, a front suspension mountain bike that's just itching to hit the trails. The steel mountain frame and suspension fork keep the ride smooth. You'll love the easy gear changes that come with the 21-speed trigger shifters and Shimano rear derailleur, not to mention the Schwinn alloy crank. Ride high or cruise down low thanks to the tool-free adjustable seat post, and rest assured you can handle any trail with the front and rear disc brakes there for crisp all-condition stopping. Like all Schwinn bikes, the Sidewinder comes with a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own the bike. You've been dreaming about this all day. Now get out and enjoy the freedom of riding a Schwinn!

It's a Very Good Bike for the Price!!
I find it funny when I read reviews on products that are given one and two star ratings it's all about how it arrived. The product was damaged in shipping, or it didn't arrive when they said it would. No information about the product and it's quality. For the price this is a very good bike for a youngster. The welds are good the brakes are Disk and operate great. Shifting gears is smooth and easy. Will you have to make an adjustment here and there down the road? Ya for sure..It's a Bike with a lot of features. If your unable to walk and chew Gum at the same time stay away from this product because you have no mechanical aptitude. I would recommend this bike in a heartbeat. There is a YouTube Video for this bike that demonstrates what to do when it shows up at your front door. Easy Peasy for most.

Heavy bike!
I bought this for my 12 year old son and we assembled it together without too much hassle. My son loves the bike's color scheme and he likes riding it around. My son is small for his age and he has trouble handling the bike's weight. The steel frame and accessories has the bike weighing over 30 lbs. This will be a great bike for under $500 if you can handle the weight.

HEAVY and will likely need professional attention.
Pros- Features, shifters (paddle not twist), aestheticsCons- Weight, disc brakes difficult to set up, SLOPPY assembly at factory (most bolts terribly overtightened- almost to a failure-point), terrible instructions. All units shipped are NOT ready to roll out of box, and we are not talking aboit simply adding a wheel. I remove wherms, change tubes, etc. all the time. This was different. Front disc was a nightmare, also rear wheel needed adjustment. If you have experience with bicycle repair then it is a good buy, if not then pass on this, or be ready to pay your local bike shop $40 or more to correct the manufacturing issues. If I had a do-over I would not have bought this. I started a return (thanks Amazon for facilitating this) but decided to let the “Bike Barn” down the street have a look since my son liked the look so much and didn’t mind the weight (freakishly strong per his BJJ coach). Now it runs fine but it is, again, HEAVY.

Not ready out of the box
This is the 2nd time I purchased this exact bike. The issue is that it was in no way ready to ride out of the box. The breaks were rubbing BADLY that required much more adjustment than I was expecting. The rear derailleur was so out of alignment that only 3 rear gears worked and the chain fell off when switching to the rest which could have caused damage. If you don't know how to adjust gears and brakes, do not purchase this bike online. I have an appointment at a local bike shop and have to spend $70 to get it ready to ride. My lesson learned....don't by a bike online.

Don’t recycle the box!
Not happy. The front wheel could not be mounted because frame was out of alignment. I was told to take the bike to UPS for return. I did. They charged me $41.41 because I did not have the original shipping box. So a word of advice...save the box!

A lot of parts, one part missing was annoying
All in all a great bike for the money. It was disappointing to my son to wait while I drove around to bike shops looking for the missing part, but he loves the bike.Definitely 4 stars.
