AirNav Radar VHF Airband 118-136 MHz Outdoor Antenna with SMA Connector

I bough an extra length of coax as the antenna coax provided looked a bit short for what I wanted. Don't be fooled by the picture on the AirNav store page on Amazon! it is as advertised 7.5m or 24ft 6 inches!! My installer put this antenna high on my chimney and inserted the coax through a hole he made in the wall just below the ridgeline gable end of my house, this made it possible for the installer to pull the coax through to my attic hatch where he left about 3 feet of coax dangling for me to connect my dongle and Raspberry Pi that lives up in the loft next to the access. Totally thrilled at the increased data I am seeing for ACARS

Ce modèle complète un assortiment d'antennes que je me suis procuré pour la réception sur un poste SDR. Je ne m'en sert pas pour émettre (c'est de toute façon prohibé sur la bande air si on ne pilote pas soi-même un avion). J'habite près de la mer et les bandes marines sont également accessibles. Il est préférable de la fixer verticalement sur un mât que j'avais déjà construit pour y mettre d'autres antennes dédiées à d'autres bandes.

Put on roof of house, on 3ft mast. Couldnt hear tower 25km away from stock radio antenna on icom a5, can hear tower and air traffic from 50km out.

Come da istruzioni l'antenna va installata in un luogo aperto e privo di riflessioni, funzionamento ottimo.

La verdad esperaba más de la antena, lo conecté a un radio scanner uniden y su recepción es pobre en comparación con una antena dipolo (dos alambres expuestos) que capta más que este producto. Desconozco su fabricación interna, pero no tiene buena recepción. Solo capta cuando la aeronave esta por encima de mi casa, más de 10 millas no capta nada.
