Good Quality, Easy Set up, Great support!
I like this product. I purchased another brand and then found out that this is the only one approved for Nexia home system. I ended up purchasing 11 total and they work great and are easy to set up. Two units had issues and the company replaced them and even gave me an extra device for my troubles. Replacements were here in two days! So far the product works great with my WaterCop product.

Works as Promised
This product works as promised. It would be significantly better with two design changes.First, the instructions advise you to use caulking or similar over the exterior, recessed screws to keep moisture out. That makes it difficult to change the batteries when the time comes. The shell should be designed to offer the same level of protection.Next, you need to choose whether you want an audible alarm (this model) or a visual alarm (another model). For me it depends. It would be nice to be able to make that choice either via the z-wave controller or via a switch on the product itself.Despite the above, my product did work as advertised, was very easy to enroll, and does its job.

On the Buzzer version Nexia only supports water not temperature.
On the Buzzer version Nexia only supports water not temperature. According to Fortrez Z the buzzer version is an older version and requires the hub to ask for temperature. Nexia is not capable of asking sensors for information. Nexia relies on the device sending information. The LED version was a later release and it automatically sends temperature information when the the temperature changes by one degree. There are not plans to fix this as Fortrez Z is releasing a new generation of the device in the Summer of 2017..

Not well made.
The instructions say to not drip water on it as it can fail. That is amazing to me given the application, and how easy it would be to manufacture this product so that it is properly sealed. You can work around this by setting it upon a paper towel and putting a plastic cup over it.The metal sensors rust quickly when you test the product, so I have concerns about it being in a damp environment for several years and still working. Also they are easy to accidentally push into the housing where they can no longer do their job.The Z-Wave transmission range is really low, about 10 feet through 1 wall, meaning that it has to be used as part of a serious Z-Wave network and if a retransmitter fails, well this may stop doing its job also.Bottom line is I wouldn't buy 6 of these and put them around my house for leak detection. I'm going to use an alternative that I feel comfortable trusting.

Unreliable
Have now used this for 4 months. It is synced with my Vera Lite and located next to a water heater, resting on a paper towel which would become saturated if a leak occurs. Since installing I've had at least 3 occasions where this sensor has false alarmed, each time with numerous leak events reported (over a thousand last time it happened). In addition, I first tried using Eneloop rechargeable batteries. I use these batteries in all sorts of devices with no problem. With this sensor the batteries were depleted within a day. I now use regular alkaline batteries and am already on my 3rd set of these. I contacted the seller asking for a replacement but they said a replacement isn't likely to make any difference so refused to replace it.Note that I have another hot water heater where I've used an Everspring Z-Wave Water/Flood Sensor for 3-1/2 years and it has never false alarmed. Unfortunately the Everspring's sensor configuration isn't as convenient for my other water heaters location, which is why I tried the FortrezZ sensor.

Temperature sensor not included - false advertising
I bought both the LED version and Buzzer version. The LED version is great... 5 stars. The Buzzer version does not report temperature. I have 4 of them, none of them report temperature and temperature alerts are not available. Water sensor is working, so if that's all you want and you need an audible alarm, this is the right one. If you need temperature, as well, get the LED version. The package, product label and instructions show that it should report temperature. I have contacted support, but have yet to receive an answer.

Works with Smartthings hub
When I first bought this sensor it paired with the hub and beeped when wet but did not send an alarm on the network.Fortrezz and SmartThings worked together to solve the problem and make it work as advertised. Now when I test the sensor it beeps and sends an alert to the hub, and the hub sends me a notification and a text message. Kudos for the responsiveness and level of support of these teams!

Works fine
This is better than the older unit which used 1/2AAA battery that is not readily available. This one uses 2 AA batteries. As a battery-operated Z-Wave unit, it does not report as often and does not relay signal. I wish it had a A/C adapter capability. It is small enough to place anywhere and easy to program. I use it with Vera2 to report temperature and water leak in laundry room, basement, and bathroom.
