Nothing fancy
So far is working as it should. Weather has been wet and we haven’t had an issue. To be fair I have it under a roof so it doesn’t get much weather anyway.

Used many times satisfactory
I have had the chance to use the product many times outdoors for cord extender and bad weather protection for outdoor projects. Easy to use and I no issues of leaving it out in the rain.

OK for light use
I use these exclusively at Xmas for outdoor lamps. For this use they are good. Yes, they are not waterproof. Yes, the plastic hinges might break if used a lot. Yes, the plastic might deteriorate in the Sun. But once a year in the winter for 2 weeks is not a problem. Water is a tough item to control. It will seep and travel into any small opening, such as a wire penetration. I wrap electrical tape around the penetrations at each end, and the exiting wires, to get added protection. I also put 1 wrap around the outer circumference - for comfort mostly. Still I would not put these to the test in any area of standing water, they will not do, and where I live, we seldom get days of driving rain either, at this time of year. If you are only joining two cords you might also consider wrapping the plugs with Scotch Brand (only 3M tape works good enough) electrical tape which is pretty watertight itself if wrapped properly. I have seen minor moisture inside before I started wrapping the exits. I personally would never leave these coverd with inches of melting Snow. Always use a GFCI, you can buy an exterior one that installs in any house standard duplex outlet.

Best I have found
I bought this to use outdoors to protect the extension cord and pressure washer cord while I used it for pressure washing the house. I didn't want to chance them getting wet, and this worked like a charm. It's the largest, and best made design I have come across yet. I actually have not been able to find anything even close to this size or quality in the large box stores, home supply, or garden centers. Fact is, I cannot find these type of cases at all. Employees searched two different stores in our area, and while they knew what I was talking about, this type of casing has been removed from the stores period. Not just their physical stores, but not even in their systems. While searching for this casing on Amazon, I found that most seem to have a split in the middle where water can get in, or they are super small, and/or the ends don't allow for large cords/cables. They are horribly designed. This fit my heavy duty extension cord just fine, and I love the extra care in the closure of the case, as it is nearly impossible for any water at all to get inside. Highly recommend, and I will probably purchase another set or two to have on hand, since I cannot find it anywhere at all locally.*This product was purchased at normal cost for my personal purchase. It was not a promotional or discounted item.

Performs Great UPDATED 8.15.18 - DID Perform Great
I didn't pay much attention to specs when ordering these (I purchased two), so was quite surprised at how large they were. The cover is 8 inches long and 3 inches wide, so if you intended to tuck this discretely into a corner somewhere, it's not going to happen. However, I won't be using it in a restrictive space and the size isn't important - the ability to keep out water is. We've had a very rainy, windy winter this year, and both covers are located outdoors under partial but inadequate cover. One is tucked under a heated birdbath, and the other sits on the rear tire of a Jeep that is attached to a trickle-battery charger in the driveway. Each unit is absolutely dry inside, despite the wrath the heavens have rained down on them. I initially thought that these covers were a bit overkill, but the quality is commendable. There is a flexible gasket running the length of the cover and around the openings at each end. There is also a separate molded bracket inside that holds one cord stationary, ensuring that the two cords don't disconnect. While I doubt you could successfully emerge it in a bucket of water, it stands up admirably against the elements.UPDATE: the hinge that holds this clamshell-like device together is molded plastic, and after two years of use, snapped off when I opened it. Without the hinge, there is nothing to hold it together, unless you want to rubber-band it shut. Too bad, because the device itself worked well, but the point of failure is a significant one. Dinging a star.SECOND UPDATE: they've both broken, on their own, within a year. I'm demoting this to 3 stars.

Great for string lights too
For my christmas lights, All of my 3-prong connections seem pretty good in the wet snow but my stack of plugs from string lights weren’t faring so well. They were causing a short in the system. I have always wanted to buy a contraption like this but kept putting it off. I finally bit the bullet and am quite pleased! As my picture shows, the 8.25” container can hold 3 string light plugs and one 3-prong plug. I have 5 strands so I had to buy two containers and a y-shaped cord to split my connection into two. Kind of convoluted but I am confident that the containers will do the job to keep my lights from shorting! The holes on either end are big enough for the 3 string light cords to pass through and are covered by a nice pliable gasket so it’s water tight whether or not you have one tiny string light cord or 3. Also the gasket makes it so the container is “hanging” off the cord instead of putting weight on the cords. It’s bulky but a lot less heavy than I’d thought. I look forward to adding more of these to my light display as I need them each year.
