I bought this monitor as the main family computer screen in our living room. I am not a gamer but I dabble. The computer is mostly used for youtube, school work and web surfing. For that it is PERFECT. For gaming however, I do still believe it holds its own but one will have the throw several hundred more for a pure gaming model monitor with maxed out specs. So far I am using the monitor out of the box settings wise the way it came. It is plenty bright and crisp. I love the matt finishing, and the almost borderless edging. With all of the complaints about the sound, I can confirm that #1 it does indeed have speakers (model VA27DQ), and #2 it is NOT that bad sounding! The audio, while very mono and lifeless sounding, it is clear enough and not choppy, which is all I wanted! If I want better sound I can just switch on the external speakers (although we rarely use those speakers, and thanks for the internal sound on the monitor we don't need to!) For the price: a good looking and large 27" Asus labeled modern monitor with sound and solid visuals for $100 plus change -- take my money please!

Set it up at my desk, and the picture is sharp with good colors. Plenty of input options, and the stand was easy to attach. Great value.

Update: compared to an ASUS PA27JCV for $800, this actually is a very good monitor. Despite the increase in resolution, it is difficult to see the difference with photos downloaded. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The color palette can be adjusted on each and I get fairly close to the JCV. In the Amazon description: "Supports both Adaptive-Sync with NVIDIA GeForce* graphics cards and FreeSync with AMD Radeon graphics cards *Compatible with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series, GTX 16 series, RTX 20 series and newer graphics cards". It does NOT support G-SYNC which the manual shows and the description does not state just to be clear. A blog said "gtx 1060 supports adaptive v sync, it also supports fast sync". Probably not confusing to an avid gamer which I am not. So it doesn't really matter to me but at first glance may be confusing. The manual has an X by NVIDIA G-SYNC: NVIDIA G-SYNC ✗ AMD FreeSync ✓ Low Blue Light technology ✓ Flicker-free technology ✓ VESA Adaptive Sync support ✓ AMD FreeSync type FreeSync I think this ASUS VA24DQ has great color and intensity out of the box. I checked it with the Windows 10 Calibrate Display Monitor and didn't change anything. I noticed the color intensity and depth immediately. I wanted a VESA mount to get the monitor off the desk top. It is sufficiently wide and high for general computing which is all I do with it (23.8 inch diagonal). With a Display Port, HDMI and VGA (sub-D) it should work well for many people. This replaces my 32 inch curved display which frankly was too large for general computing.

Heavier than I expected. Much heavier than my old 22-inch monitor. (My 55-inch TV is light by comparison.) Be careful taking it out of the box. It would be better if you turned it sideways and slid it out. Lifting it straight up could allow it to fall, because there is nothing to firmly hold on to. Assembly was fairly easy, but the instructions were too tiny to really see. The base is a hard plastic, but, since it is supporting the weight, I would have preferred metal. Works well, but not a smooth substitute for the old monitor. Had to reboot a couple times before it was working fully. And there seems to be some problem in working with the mouse. I am fairly certain it is a technical issue that is easily cleared up. But the point is, that all the other monitors I purchased save one, were all plug-in-and-play. The colors are excellent and the definition is sharp with good contrast. If it also turns out to be as easy on the eyes as it says, then it is a very good buy. (I didn't test the built-in speaker. I was already using a good set.)

I love this more for how it fit than what is does, and if fit the space in my roll top desk perfectly. Very capable full HDMI monitor at a fair price. I'm very happy with it.

This Asus VA24DQ monitor is just GREAT! After a simple setup to your particular parameters it is very clear, colors are great, very easy to use and setup. The 24 inch size was exactly what I needed and the refresh rate was great at 75 HZ. I used the HDMI cable to connect to p.c., and you also have a choice to use display port. A great monitor for a great price !!.

I love me every square inch of this monitor. After like seven years, my original monitor of this brand lost an hdmi port to a storm. I snag me this one and it’s been aces. Great brand, durable product.

The frameless monitors look sharp and the black on screen border is now smaller than older models. I have older models that still work without flaw. I suspect this one will too. Also good to have display and HDMI ports.

Excelente monitor, solo me quejo que le falta un poco de brillo y el menú es un tanto rarito. Amazon México me lo envió sin caja extra y llegó algo maltratado el interior espero no afecte a futuro.

Good quality, basic monitor. I have 2 of them that i use in my home office (remote worker). No issues even after 3 years of using them. The only thing is that the height doesn't adjust, so I just had to buy monitor stands.

Es un muy buen monitor, con una buena representación de colores y buena utilización de FreeSync (aunque lo último dependerá de los demás componentes). Principalmente lo uso para edición de video y fotografía, y para renderizado 3D, no he presentado problema alguno.
