Yes, the Unistrut can be painted. Degrease the Unistrut and use a good metal primer first.

What would be the load rating on this?

Are any other lengths available? I’m looking for a solid 8’ piece.

Thanks for the inquiry regarding 8' lengths. We have not added these to our AMZ storefront due to the associated shipping costs, although Unistrut P1000T is manufactured in 10 and 20 foot lengths. You might use a splice connector or trolley hanger to create longer sections from five foot sections, depending on the application. Hope this helps. Unistrut Service Company

Can these be joined to increase length?

Yes. They make a splice piece that is a channel that fits around the outside and has 4 slots to bolt the pieces of Unistrut together.
