Yes, in fact there are two LEDs per drive one for activity and one for error.

Q: Is the raid mode handled by the adapter so that i could connect multiple drives, and a host connected via usb 3.0 will see one raid volume?

Yes, that is correct. The RAID is handled by firmware on the board. You can configure for JBOD (default) or one of several RAID modes. Instructions for setting the RAID modes are included with the board.

Q: Whats the best way to power your hard drives when using this device?

This board is intended for use in an external drive enclosure. Power would be supplied to both the drives and the board by the enclosure power supply.

Q: Does this suport sata 3.0gb/s or sata 6.0gb/s on the ports?
