I have been looking for something made of heavy gauge steel, pry-resistant, and discreet to secure my valuables for a while. This Moutec PS03F Gun Safe hits the mark in all those areas.When I first received this safe in the mail, it was fairly heavy, which is a good thing. Not only was it packaged well, but it also included mounting hardware (screws & anchors), a securing cable, and 2 high security keys. The keys are not like a typical lock key, but rather grooved on both sides to prevent picking of the lock.Another nice feature of the safe is the built in LED light that illuminates for about 30 seconds once opened. The lid is spring loaded, so once you enter the code (4 to 8 digits) it pops right open. The default is set to 1-2-3-4, but reprogramming the code is easy: press/hold the program button for 5 seconds, enter your new code, then press the program button again; the safe will beep 2x and your code is set.I found that the light does not come on when the safe os opened with the key, but that's of no concern to me. I suppose if you want to discreetly open the safe, it's better that the light stays off. You can also silence the beeping of the buttons by pressing/holding the "1" button for 3 seconds. I like these design aspects of this safe.You will need 4 AA batteries if you want to use the push-button combination, but obviously not necessary if you just want to use the key.All in all, this safe is heavy gauge steel which makes it secure, has 2 options to open (code or key), and it is easy to operate. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good value at a fair price.

I recently purchased a pistol and wanted to be able to keep it fairly safe without getting a huge safe. I didn't want anything fancy like a fingerprint reader. This arrived yesterday and I set it up. Programming a code is super easy! The keys are 1-6 so your pin has to be in that range but setting an initial code or resetting it takes no time at all. The batteries are easy to pop in since the battery case snaps in and has no screws. The lids pops open quickly after the correct code is entered. I hadn't tried it but I read in the manual if you enter the code wrong too many times, alarms will go off and you have to reset it with the key. It comes with 2 keys.This box has holes in the bottom to secure it to something and contains a kit to screw it down. This box has decent weight and the lid fits flush with the case. With batteries the buttons can light up and the inside also lights up. I was able to store a revolver, pistol, and 2 mags with no problems. It's not going to hold more than that, but for a small amount of items it's perfect. I am very happy with it.Update: I've now owned this a year and I love it! It has worked reliably every time I take my gun in and out. I am absolutely buying another.

I bought this safe to replace a quick draw, narrow profile type that would no longer fit a full size pistol after I added a red dot to it. I wanted a safe that could still be discreet, fit a pistol and extra magazine, and mount against a wall. This safe is solidly build (heavy) with no flex and a thicker base for mounting. This would be nearly impossible to rip from the wall with the correct type of bolts sunk into a strong stud. Being mounted vertically and down low, I was worried about button access and the ability of the door to spring open. Happily my worries were unfounded as the buttons are big and easily visible and the door springs open with a lot of authority (enough to push things out of the way). The pistol fits nicely and is stable, though in this configuration putting two in (without modification) would make them staying in place on opening unlikely. There is a small light inside for night visibility and the buttons can be silenced so as not to beep.Overall, the safe is well built, exceeded my expectations, and was a perfect match for my needs.

I've had this safe for a little over a year. It's very sturdy and functioned great until today. I had opened it about once a month or so with no problems, but today after opening as usual, the lid will no longer latch when closing.I really liked the functionality and features of this safe and wish I could find something similar from another manufacturer, but at this point I've lost faith in this one.EDIT 12/20/2021I contacted the manufacturer and they responded quickly to suggest changing the batteries. My batteries were relatively new but I tried new ones and the lock immediately worked again. I'm not sure if it was just a matter of taking the batteries out and putting them back in or if it required fresh batteries, but it seems to have reset the locking mechanism so that it now works properly. Updating to 4 stars since it now works and the issue of not closing would not have been nearly as critical as if it had not opened when needed.

The keypad can be programmed between 4 and 8 digits which allows for 2015280 possibilities. (1296 choices if a 4 digit code is used as opposed to an 8.) Also, the keypad lights up briefly when the numbers are pressed to allow easy key distinction in low light conditions. (Also, very easy to reprogram keypad.)With its exterior dimensions of 13.5" x 11" x 3.2", makes it easy to hide. I've had numerous gun safes that were simply too tall. The MouTec has a low profile with plenty of space to easily hold two pistols on its foam pad. There are two holes underneath this pad which gives the flexibility to securing the MouTec safe horizontally or vertically.Lastly, I love how solid this safe is. It has internal hinges and there is virtually no gap between the door and the body making it difficult to pry.If you're looking for a safe that does it all, this is the one. Easy access for you (but not the kids). Maximum use of space in a concealable package. Rugged.
